Plot bunnies are more effecent than alarm clocks. I woke up at 8 this morning even though I didn't have to and I went to bed after midnight. Which is odd since I'll sleep till ten on Sundays usually.

The long awaited begining to Al and Riza's story! The no touchie rule still applies as this is only half of the equation. And, I ask anyone who reads this here keeps this to themselves (don't tell people over at HoS) until I post it at the comm tommorow.

Empty Frames

The room looked exactly the same as it had when Fury visited yesterday. His eyes skidded away from the two comatose forms lying in the hospital beds. “Any word?”

Winry looked up at him. “No. The doctors are supposed to be back soon.” She gently smoothed Al’s hair. “Anything on the others?”

Fury shook his head. “They’re still missing. Major Armstrong found traces of a large alchemy explosion. But it isn’t his area of expertise. We really need another alchemist to come look at it but the problem is finding some one we trust.”

Winry nodded. “Maybe Al and Ed’s teacher would come. She’s in Dublith.”

“If she taught those two she’d certainly be able to help,” Fury nodded. “I’ll have some one contact her.”

“Izumi Curtis. That’s her name.” Winry’s voice shook. “She would want to know anyway. With Al…and ….Ed….” She sobbed. “They’ve been like this for two days. Why can’t the doctors do anything?!”

“Excuse me Miss.” The pair looked up to see a nurse standing in the doorway. “If you could come with me, Doctor Mathews would like to see you now.”

“May I come as well?” Fury asked.

The nurse looked slightly taken back. “Are you here on the military’s behalf?”

“No. I’m checking on my friends.”

Winry nodded. “Please. He’s been a friend for quite some time.”

“In that case, please come this way.”

“I’m not quite sure how to begin,” Doctor Mathews examined the pair before him.

“What’s wrong with them?” Winry demanded.

“If I knew I would tell you,” Mathews sighed. “Mr. Elric and Ms. Hawkeye have been examined by everyone we could call upon in Central. Physically they have a few minor abrasions, some bruising, a minor fracture in a rib bone and some second degree burns.”

“Then why won’t they wake up?” Winry cried.

“We don’t know.” Mathews admitted. “We’re calling in every specialist we can. They SHOULD have woken up.” He sighed. “If I was a religious person I’d say that they were missing their soul.”

“But they’ll get better right?” Winry insisted.

“I won’t lie to you Ms. Rockbell. We’ve had some cases similar to this before involving head trauma. Some of the patients never recovered. We can keep them alive for a period of time but if they don’t wake up their bodies will wither.” Fury found himself with an armful of Winry as the girl cried on his shoulder. “However, there may be some hope. Sometimes if the victims are brought into contact with someone or something that they have extremely strong emotional attachments to they will break out of the coma.”

“So maybe…”

“We might be able to save them both.” Mathews paused. “I suggest you increase your searches for Mr. Elric’s brother.”

“Why?” Fury asked suspiciously.

“Because he holds a strong connection to both of them. And,” the doctor added his eyes far away, “He has accomplished the impossible before.”

Any remarks are welcome. Also, we may get some back story from the minor character introduced here. Ask this question: why do you think he's doing everything he is for Al and Riza?

Aww I like it and Fury is getting screen time as well. *hugs the Fury* Fury seems like the character who would worry and do anything for anyone of course my crack filled head reads this and thinks something is going on between him and Winry. As always I adore your fics and completely agree with your icon. You damn breeder. ^__^

I thought it might be a good idea to give Fury some time. I think he's such a sweet guy. And your thought occured to me as well. We could have HoSII: Winry, Sheskea, Havoc, Fury...
You're the first person who mentioned the icon. ^_^Thanks.
And if you think this is good, wait till "Panes" comes out.

If we made a HoSII we then would have to make a third one on account that the other two would keep merging together. FMA is turning into a mass realationship now.

NO! *protects the fivesome*
I'm actually not a fan of multiple relationships, I prefer pairs actually, but these five interacting together are special. They don't need anymore problems.

Nice, very very nice. So I'm betting they are somehow partially trapped in the gate or something? Interesting.

I don't really see any problems with this. As usual, your story is perfect. I really love your dialogues, but you've heard me say that many times before. :)

It's nice to see Fury and Winry. We need more stories with inside looking in views of HOS. That would be interesting...

Is it the doctor we need back story from? Hmmm....

Looking forward to more of this plot! Go LG!

Yes actually. We'll be getting Mathews story from, of all people, interaction with Armstrong.
Dead on the money by the way but please don't tell anyone. Its the others that are interesting anyway. others being others in the you know where.
In other news, have you seen Greed-san lately?

From: [identity profile] kytyngurl2.livejournal.com
No...

I was wondering about the lack of Greed-sama. All I've seen this weekend was the post in my LJ about all the work we/I've been causing and possible smacking. :( *feels terrible and guilty*

Greed-sama is likely a lucky person who has a real life on weekends. :D Wish I had one of those! But I did go and see a movie today. And I left the house and everything! Despite the snow/rain mix!

*offers money to whomever writes a Masuta x Roy x Ed Lemon for LG*

And my lips are zipped! :)

Thanks. I left a note on her journal asking if she's okay. I do have a life...its called anime club, numb3rs and HoS. Besides school work that is.
Don't feel guilty, its a good type of work. You know she enjoy's reading them.
Can't write lemons...minor lime maybe. And right now the angst muses are on overload. (created an angst sequal for pure fluff. GAH!)
Just finished rough draft of "panes" will edit tomorow and post.

What is the pure fluff that you have an angst sequel for?

I hope she's okay too!!! And that it's all okay...

Gah, I need some fluff right now. FMA manga 44 was a rollercoaster...

Come to think of it, I've been writing pretty angsty stuff this weekend too, haven't I? It's the curse of LG!!

Date: 2005-02-14 12:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] bard-linn.livejournal.com
Yes, LG is very angsty. "First Day of Spring" is fluff about Riza being pregnant and a country tradition. The sequal "supersticous" (Sp?) is something about the Elric's background.
Can't remember if I've read 44...

Heh heh. Have we gotten you to do a pregrant!Riza story? :3 The sequel sounds interesting though... those two would have some interesting issues due to their childhoods, wouldn't they?

*would set up a tape if it did*
yes by all means put out the carrots. I was stuck up last night with a bloody bunny. *growls* Not your fault though, this one's kytyngurl2's Fault. I'm writing the next part for Over the Times! (Where Ed gets them together) just see if I don't!

...You mean I don't have to do it? Whew!! Can I give you a little scene to slip in? :D

From: [identity profile] bard-linn.livejournal.com
Sure. The entire things plotted out in my head. I'm going to try and do a draft tonight. Then I give it to you and you can mess with it. Can't promise though, I've got HW

That sounds fine! Take your time! I understand homework all too well...

I only have bunnies for a couple scenes. Co-writing maybe?
