People who review just to say "you made a mistake at X" annoy me. At least sugar coat it with "hey, I've been reading this story for 28 chapters and it's pretty good but you did X"
ALSO it helps if you double check your facts about X, particularly if it's say, canon material not that hard to find out.

Date: 2007-07-03 10:43 pm (UTC)Actually, this reminds me of my dark times as a newcomer in fandom. I offered to proofread a fic for this guy, and sent it back with comments after almost every paragraph saying stuff like "oh, I really liked this part" and "I think this would read better if you wrote this sentence with this ridiculously small change than otherwise". Poor guy obviously stopped writing after that, and it took me almost a year to figure out why... *flinches and hides face in shame*
