And we find out why the alchemy accident occured...

Hidden Image

“You did a great job Papa.”

“Thank you Nina.”

“You should go get some rest. You look really tired.”

“Alright. You’ll be fine by yourself?”

Nina nodded smiling up at her father. “I’m gonna play with the mirror you got me!” The chimera left. Nina dropped the innocent act. Honestly, that man was almost worthless. It wouldn’t be long until his mind gave out all the way between her manipulations and damage resulting from his experiments. This presented a problem as she could not perform alchemy. Bad enough the fool had messed up in the first place.

The small girl reached over and carefully pulled the cover off the mirror. She scrutinized her reflection. Folk tales claimed mirrors revealed the truth. With the exception of the eyes, she looked exactly like the body she normally inhabited. Only glowing violet eyes in the glass gave away her inhuman nature.

As it might be guessed, this was not the original Nina Tucker. No, that girl had died along with her dog Alexander by the hands of Shou Tucker and the murderer known as Scar. However her father had attempted to resurrect her but failed to correctly bind his daughter’s soul. All that was left was an empty shell.

A shell very susceptible to their influence.

What were they? They were the forces that lived in the very center of the Gate. This one had come from that place into this girl’s body assuming her life to fulfill their goal: the destruction of Hohenheim’s sons.

They had been angry at Hohenheim for a very long time. It was he who first successfully seized one of their own and warped it into human shape, tainting it with human memory and consciousness. From then on many more of these ‘homunculi’ were born, including by the hand of his sons. They couldn’t strike Hohenheim while he lived. First he was protected by far powers darker than they for his creation of the philosopher’s stone. By the time he returned to the light they had stopped tracking his every move. Then the man had died and they could not touch the dead, only the living.

So the only appropriate revenge would be to destroy his children.

The first time they had encountered the eldest they hadn’t known who he was. They had only seen the life in his eyes and desperately wanted it. Only later, when he returned from the parallel world protected by his parents did they discover the blond’s identity. Since then they had watched him diligently, waiting for the day they could strike.

Nina carefully cut her hand allowing the blood to seep onto the mirror. She couldn’t make contact with the rest often or the other forces within the Gate would notice. The glass turned darker. A black figure with violet glowing eyes appeared. “You have done badly. The youngest son and one of his mate’s bodies remained behind. Their spirits  are protected by the dead.”

Nina ground her teeth. “My resources are limited.”

“Then you must expand them.”

“What of the others?”

“They passed through to the other side.”

“WHAT!”

“The eldest Elric ventured into our realm and was intercepted by a spirit. He was protected by one of the tainted.”

Nina growled. They had to nerve to criticize HER failure?! “So what are you going to do about it?!”

“Do not forget your place! We have decided you are to help reunite the two bodies and souls. Do what ever you deem necessary to accomplish this and send them into the Gate. We shall handle the other three.”

Nina bowed her head in acceptance but seethed with fury. “As you command.”

“And be careful not to let the moral shell you inhabit taint you or you shall also be banished from us.”  With that finial warning the link was severed.

Nina cleaned up and carefully released her anger. This pitiful hot fury was completely human. It didn’t resemble their usual icy rage in the least. “Nina?”

“In here Papa!”

Yes, this fool would go first. Then she would deal with her task.

Let me know if this is comprehendable! *ducks to avoid incoming objects and death threats*

Just think, if they get back we can have "Ed-niisan! I missed you so much!"
...should I be worried this is what I think about when I wake up?

...I like it. I really really like it.

It's evil, but it is a great idea too. We actually have a villian now!! And the set up is great... Ed and the others are really going to be in some danger. Who knows what the scary Gate Babies are going to try next??

*rereads* This fake 'Nina' seems to be an interesting character too. How exactly has it been contaminated by humaness... what could that lead to?

So very very cool.
