Familiar: Parenthood
Summary: For the love of a child.
Warning: implications of sex, possibly limeish. Not a lemon.
Parenthood
She was waiting on the bed when he entered. Winry felt her heart speed up as he carefully removed each item of clothing, almost in a ritualistic way. She was only dressed in a robe, knowing quite well she would be shedding it momentarily. This brought back wistful dreams of her years as a teenager, back before the quest was finished, before she had married her true love and settled down to live out the rest of her life. At least now she knew more about what she was getting into, and had the skill to make sure they both enjoyed the encounter. Far better from her first time.
He was surprisingly gentle. They lips met softly and Winry shoved the robe off her shoulders. She captured his strong hands and pulled him down. He moved slowly, making sure that she was fully ready before they joined, in a flash of emotion so strong it overwhelmed Winry.
“Al!”
He said nothing, only held her quietly until she drifted off to sleep.

“Winry wants a child.”
Anyone with eyes could see that. It was clear in the way Winry interacted with Rowan.
“You have to give her one.”
Edward Elric sighed as he slid out of bed. He hadn’t liked it, but if it made Al and Winry happy, he was willing to go against his personal feelings. Winry stirred as he left her side, then slipped deeper into sleep’s embrace. Ed gathered up his clothing and quietly left the room.
No one was sure exactly why Al was infertile. Some speculated the influence of the Gate. Others had called it the price for the younger Elric’s restoration. Regardless of the cause, it meant that Al couldn’t give his wife what she wanted desperately and had turned to his brother for help. They had planned this carefully. Winry was at her most fertile point. Pregnancy was almost assured. Edward hoped so. He didn’t want to repeat this.
“Brother.” Al moved out of the shadows.
Ed felt his gut twist with guilt. Even with permission, it felt wrong to sleep with his brother’s wife. Especially when Al was in hearing distance.
Al enfolded his brother in a tight embrace. “Thank you.”

Ten months later, Edward held his son over a cradle. “Rowan, meet your cousin, Sarah.”
