HoS: Kaerimasu
Feb. 18th, 2005 07:31 amDamm you [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]! *Shakes fist* This is so frustrating....I mean some of our lines are like identical....
For those of you who haven't had Japanese, kaerimasu means to return, specifically to return home.
Kaerimasu
“What do you suppose it is this time?”
Masuta looked up from his notebook. “What?”
“Ed’s in worry mode again,” Roy waved at the blond on the other side of the room. “Or maybe guilt mode is more appropriate.”
“Guilt mode?”
“He’s obsessing over an alchemy project. More than usual I mean,” Roy replied cradling his coffee mug. “Generally that happens when he remembered something that he didn’t do.”
“Shouldn’t we do something?” Masuta asked surprised by Riza and Roy’s careless attitude.
“Last time I tried to talk him out of it he bit my head off,” Roy shrugged. Now that Masuta was looking for it he saw a faint bruise on the officer’s cheek. “I’m just glad he used his left hand.”
Riza nodded. “Ed used to be like this all the time when he was younger,” she added. “It will lessen as he makes some progress.”
“I used to set him off to try and get him to blow off some steam but now he’s just ignoring me. I had to try and take away the books to get a response.”
Masuta frowned and wandered into the library where Ed was hard at work. “Edward?”
Golden eyes flickered up at him, a guilty look flowing across his face for the barest of seconds. Gloved hands paused. “Ichiro?”
“What are you doing?”
“Researching the recorded incidents of encounters with the Gate. Some nonalchemists have reported seeing it or something similar and-”
“Why?”
Ed dropped his eyes back to the book in front of him. “I know I haven’t been working on this lately and I’m really sorry. I’ll keep my promise.”
“Edward?”
“I promised I would return you to your home.”
Masuta stared at Edward in shock. He thought everyone had realized he was quite content to remain here with his four lovers. Ed was having guilt problems about this? The Japanese man embraced Edward tightly. His voice shook as he spoke his next words.
“You already did.”

Date: 2005-02-18 01:24 pm (UTC)And love for Masuta being sent to be the one to go see what's up with Ed. And how well Riza and Roy understand Edward now.
Oooh, hey, if you put an 'O' in front of your 'Kaerimasu' it means "I'm Home!"
