HoS: Daybreak
Feb. 16th, 2005 04:48 pmLinn, repeat after me. You are NOT going to write HoS. You are going to write your report. R-E-P-O-R-T. R-E-P-O-S. R-O-S. H-O-S. GAH! Fine. *finishes fic.* NOW go write the report.
Daybreak
Ed sighed as he stood and slowly stretched. He used to get a lot more sleep on trains than he did now a days. Without someone, usually Al, to guard his back he couldn’t rest soundly and recent events had made him more anxious than usual. Those caves had been entirely stable for a long time. It seemed a little suspicious that they collapsed when he was there. Or maybe he was just being paranoid.
Suitcase in hand Ed stepped of the train. He blinked in surprise noting who was waiting for him. “Ro-General?” Ed caught himself just time remembering they were in public.
Roy smiled and gestured for Ed to come closer. Once within range, Roy snatched Ed’s suitcase and pushed him gently towards the car waiting for them. Ed blinked again realizing Roy was getting into the driver’s seat. He quickly scrambled into the passenger side. He hadn’t known Roy could drive. Usually Riza or Havoc took care of that. Actually it was pretty strange that Riza wasn’t here. She usually didn’t let Roy go anywhere unprotected even when rain wasn’t in the forecast.
Ed realized he must have blanked out because Roy’s gentle touch on his arm startled him. They were already home. The blond slid out of his seat and followed his dark haired lover up to the door. It swung open at their approach. Al stepped forward and tightly embraced his brother then carefully guided Ed to the bathroom. There, in their enormous tub, lay a steaming pool of hot water. Masuta stood next to it carefully checking the temperature. He helped Al undress Ed and lower him into the tub.
Ed leaned his head back and sighed. The warmth completely loosened his tightened muscles. Distantly he noted the two water lovers carefully washing his hair and body. Masuta finally tugged on his hand and pulled him up out of the water while Al held out a comfortable robe. Ed slipped it on gratefully. Feeling more human, he followed the pair to the dining room.
It became immediately clear why Riza hadn’t followed Roy to the train station. She’d been cooking.
Ed drooled as he surveyed the huge feast in front of him. He decided then and there that Riza should be nominated for Goddesshood. As the only source of food in the wilderness, Ed had ended up performing over twenty transmutations a day. That had exhausted even him. He gave Riza a grateful glance and dug in; he ate everything twice as fast as usual. By the time the last crumb vanished he felt almost uncomfortably full and quite ready to sleep till next year.
“Ed…” Roy leaned over him, Bedroom Voice at its maximum. He dropped a kiss lightly on the younger man’s lips. “Come to bed?” Ed didn’t respond. Roy kissed him a little harder. “Ed…”
“Please Niisan?” Al asked reaching out and running fingers through Ed’s drying hair.
A soft snore responded.
“HE FELL ASLEEP?” Roy gaped at the blond. This was worse than being ignored for a book!
“He must be really tired,” Al muttered. Ed rarely said no…except when he was involved in a book.
“He sounded exhausted on the phone,” Riza frowned. “Let’s get him to bed.”
Masuta ended up carrying the blond up the stairs. He placed Edward on their large bed. He attempted to release him only to have his arm painfully caught by Ed’s automail arm. “..don’t go.”
The four smiled and arranged themselves comfortably around their lover. Complete for the first time in days, the family slept.
And because Ed was being a pain we might get a sequal entitled "High Noon" out of this one. *glares at Ed.*
