Oh the North East of the USA. How wet we are.

So. I'm currently home because rain has caused so much flash flooding that we actually closed school. Time to get caught up on a) paperwork and b) sleep.

I'm glad. The way I usually go doesn't generally flood, but it flooded today. I had some close calls with water and had to turn around once on the way to school - and its supposed to get worse, not better.


Of course, I didn't get the 2 hour delay notice until I was almost to school - and then they didn't cancel for a while, so I gathered up all my work and brought it home. XD

In Siberia same happens with heavy snowfalls - closed schools and all. When I lived in Spain I heard of some heavy flooding, but it never happened in my parts.

That happens with snow too. But this is the first time in a while it has happened with floods. We've just had so much water lately between Hurricane Irene, a really wet august and now this. The soil is soaked.

Driving in said weather system wasn't so fun. ^^;; Like I said to Shiro, we've just had too much rain. We affectionately refer to my school as an island. There's a lot of creeks and such around it, and some of them flood under normal conditions, much less this.
