Yesterday I did more house shopping. I'm down to two I really like, though I have to do the work-drive to one. I should be getting the sellers disclosures soon, at which point I will be doing pro-con charts. (This is how I decide things. My life is made of lists.) I will soon be putting in bids...

I'M GOING TO GET A HOUSE. I'm so excited but also a little scared.

[profile] musicshoes went to Disney World with her high school band. It's hard to believe, but she's only a few weeks from graduating high school! This would make me feel old, but since apparently I'm now the younger sister I clearly can't be.

[personal profile] kiraya and I have figured out the title for X-CG verse. This makes me happy, as I've been throwing random words together since I mentioned it last time. There's a ton of stuff we have to fine tune. After I move this summer, I'm thinking that we will rewatch X the anime (there's some details I like there), Code Geass, and reread the X-manga. And take lots, and lots of notes. (Story diverges at the end of X-9, and right after R-1.) We'll need to hammer out very detailed outlines. What I have right now isn't nearly specific enough. (It's only 6 pages, after all.)

I cleaned out some icons yesterday so I can add more X ones. Because if we end up posting this I'm going to need them.

I have spent the last few days just rereading X/TB RP logs and long with various bookmarked fic. Thus not writing at all. XD; I'm hoping to work on fixing that a bit tomorrow, if I have energy after driving out to potential house. (It adds about an hour and a half to my commute home because it's the wrong direction from my current house.) I suspect my writing output will jump a bit in the next month or so as school winds down. It usually does.

[personal profile] kiraya is on chapter 50 of BE first round fixing all my crappy writing proofing! This is awesome, as it means we will soon be able to post the first part of Femlouch-verse! Hope to get an update in for that before the end of the month.

Hohoho, I'm glad you're really working on that crossover!

<3

Btw, is X the anime really worth watching? From what I've read, it's divergent from the manga? and Subaru's eye color is all wrong?

I doubt I can be of any help with the cross-over, but if you need anything...

I loved that Oyasumi Kamui+Subaru fic that you're rec'ed me, btw

But still, compaired to CG, the X!fandom somewhat lacks in variety of fics:(

I saw the anime first. They get a lot of stuff wrong (the coloration is way off for a lot of people, not just Subaru-kun) but the music is glorious, and I really like what they did with the Kamui-Fumma-Kotori flashbacks in their childhood. So...I think it's worth watching. The X-movie, however, should be watched either with a friend to help mock it, or alcohol.

I love Oyasumi to pieces. That and Heart and Home are my faaaaavorites.

I think it has to do with the type of piece. CG bounces to all sorts of genres and hints at a ton of different pairings. X? Not so much.

Well, the people who did the X anime ran out of manga to work off of after Rainbow Bridge, so divergence is understandable (although I hear they kept in touch with CLAMP in regards to plot development -- thus Arashi changing sides, as the dreamseers have indicated will happen in the manga too). Not only is the soundtrack for the X anime awesome, but Subaru manages to help Kamui out in the end in a way that makes my little shipper heart happy.

[livejournal.com profile] bard_linn is totally right about the movie, though. The best only good part is imagining how the S/S fans reacted to the fact that they killed each other off in the first 5 minutes, haha.

But still, compaired to CG, the X!fandom somewhat lacks in variety of fics:(

AUGH DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THIS. I will whine about it forever.

Mmm, I'll have to watch it now)))

I think I ship Subaru both with Sei and with Kamui; those are very different bonds, but both are beautiful<3 And a threesome is too hot for wordsXD

>>>about the movie: I'm already furious, hahaha

I've found some great and some good ones, but almost none of the brilliance of CG writers still. Now I can fully appreciate the fact that CG fandom is very lucky. /joins you in whining

Mmm, DAT THREESOME. I love it so much. Pity there's no fic out there for it :/

I think the general problem with X fic is that overall it's very pedestrian and doesn't go out on a limb with pairings or anything. Even the AUs are almost all S/S focused, which is a damn shame considering there are so many things they could work off of changing (Kamui, anyone? It IS mostly his story, after all).

YES, THREESOMES SOLVE EVERYTHING!

I'm hardly the one to complain about S/S galore, but it gets a bit repetitive and I'd really like more creative fics, about Kamui, D!Kamui in particular.

Part of the problem with Clamp universes is this concept of a 'most special person.' We're told in either Holic or TRC that these types of bonds are (usually?) preserved even from dimension to dimension (though why HOKUTO and KOTORI weren't around at all in TRC I'll never understand). I think this mindset tends to breed a sense of...monogamy?

I humbly submit Lantis/Eagle/Hikaru for your consideration.

(Anime, what anime, pfffft.)

From: [identity profile] bard-linn.livejournal.com
I have seen people insist that Hikaru loves everyone (in a platonic sense). And thus it is not a threesome.

Ten bucks says these are the same people who insist that Touya and Yukito are not a couple.

No. At least one of the people in question ships Yaoi, but that that*.

That being the threesome.

Okay, I'll give you that. But there are plenty of people who think they're all open-minded for shipping gay pairings who overreact to anything even hinting towards polyamory.

....Reminds me of that joke!pic in which Hokuto smashed her angel!halo and asked why Subaru is not wearing a hat

and Kamui went: "that's not what I meant by 'more than friends'"

Umm, but 'most special person' usually ends up in death and eye pockage, not love and sunshine, so...
...no reason not to engage in more traditional romantic activities with someone else?

Unless the reason's getting lynched by the fandom for it because gosh darnit Thou Shalt Not Ship What Is Not Canon.

the fandom is almost dead...

...I ship SeiSub like burning, but the Word of God that called Kamui>Subaru relationship "sisterly" and made them TWINS to prove the point was a bit... D!Kamui-ish sadistic?

I mean, there is the tie tying and the hospital scene (compare to Subaru>Sei-chan hospital scene in TB and how THAT was "sisterly"?)

Some people argue that Kamui and Subaru are too angsty for each other and that they'll never ger out of their guilt loops to have a proper relationship. Hmm. I can't counter it with anything intelligent, because I don't participate in ship wars on a serious basis.

So, I'm still vouching for an unhealthy threesome of awesome♥

And there is always THIS solution:

Eh, it's just been my experience that CLAMP fandom is crazy resistant to multishipping (because, like [livejournal.com profile] bard_linn said, the canons usually have that whole "most special person" thing going on). And they're not very receptive to pairings they don't perceive as canon, either.

Pffft, as if the twins thing in TRC makes a difference. I still ship 'em anyway. And SeiFuuma too, despite the fact that they're supposed to be brothers.

...I love that comic.

you're partners in crime/RPing, borrow each-other's manga, write epic AU's... the list goes on.

That sounds very suggesting and mysterious;)

Well, we met in Japanese class and became study partners because I suck at languages and then started hanging out. I dragged her to anime club. Advent Children came out. I lent her the original game. Then we started talking bunnies...soon we were having lunch together several times a week, hanging out on the weekends, keeping each other sane (and on task). Even after she graduated (she's a year behind me even though we're only a month apart age wise. I'm ahead of most of my peers.) we still get together about once every two weeks.

In summary, she's my my LJ wife (http://marry-a-ljuser.livejournal.com/468453.html#cutid1). ^^

But this. Really just this. I find it amazing how many concepts haven't been explored, how many downright intriguing ships are never written because X fandom seems to be so pigeon-holed :/

It's funny. I always viewed as a huge orgy because there's so much you can ship, and I don't think that the concept of 'special people' should hinder one from exploring other pairings (sex =/= love).
From: [identity profile] bard-linn.livejournal.com
I think there's a lot of interesting AUs that could be written. *kicks mega-bunnies back under the bed* Especially with the nature of the dragons, Kamui, D!Kamui's wish granting kick....Even, you know, GEN FIC. (Or at least mostly gen.)

Personally I'm not interested in random sex if you don't love the person, but I'm old fashioned that way. XD But! That doesn't mean it shouldn't be happening! Someone should write it!

I kind of want to write a cracky fic about Fuuma having to fill really random stupid wishes now. XD;;
