Bard Linn: Welcome back! *hides under a rock from various thrown objects*
Kiraya: We're not dead! Yet.
Kiraya: (No comment on the muses, though. XD;;;)
Bard Linn: We'd like to thank my sister for being a good influence on getting this chapter done.
Kiraya: And by "a good influence on getting this chapter done" she means "poking at Kiraya enough to finally give it a once-over again so we could update."
Bard Linn: More or less. >.>
Kiraya: MY INACTION IS INEXCUSABLE.
Bard Linn: Yeah, it is.
Kiraya: Blame Lulu, it's his fault.
Kiraya: Well. At least in part.
Bard Linn: -- I have been playing too much X-2, because I pulled the wrong Lulu.
Bard Linn: Well, Code Geass is very interesting.
Bard Linn: Anyway, we should talk about this chapter, which is epic!
Kiraya: I almost forgot how much drama was in this chunk of the storyline, eheh.
Bard Linn: This is the infamous chapter that caused the chapters to split..two, three times?
Kiraya: This, 34, 35... they were all part of that set.
Kiraya: ...oh my god I think it was my senior year of college back when we first decided that.
Bard Linn: Not my fault.
Kiraya: I JUST FEEL OLD ALL OF A SUDDEN.
Bard Linn: Well, we're almost a quarter of a century old, dear co-writer.
Bard Linn: I suggest we put some speed on our writing, so we actually finish before we're another quarter old.
Kiraya: If we're still working on this by then and not one of the hundred million other fabulous ideas we've fleshed out since, I think I might cry.
Kiraya: Or do something drastic.
Bard Linn: Right. So, let's talk about the chapter. A bit of Vin-Cloud interaction in the beginning. Unfortunately, their roles in life have caused them to drift (like a lot of fathers and sons, really) so they don't interact as much as we'd like.
Kiraya: Makes one a bit nostalgic for the earlier chapters.
Kiraya: But don't worry, dear readers -- there'll definitely be more Vin later, we can promise you that.
Bard Linn: The next scene with Barret is awesome, though this is a perfect case of how Kiraya Makes This Story Much Better. She did a great job of perfecting Barret's speech, and figured out what flowers could be blooming around that time of the year.
Kiraya: *pathetic details-obsessed geek is pathetic*
Bard Linn: Yes, but helpful too. :P
Bard Linn: And then the Zack-Aeris fight.
Bard Linn: This was interesting, because the first time around it was much more...tepid.
Kiraya: Yeah, that whole scene went through some major revisions several times.
Bard Linn: Partially because of reader response, actually. We got a lot of "Zack's such a jerk - he should go get her" and we were thinking about it...and they're really both at fault.
Bard Linn: They both had things they could have done, and we wanted to show that.
Kiraya: It's never easy to place all the blame on one person in situations like this.
Bard Linn: Yes, but they've had a chance to hash it out, and now they can really move on. Sorry, ZackxAeris fans, but they won't be getting back together. We hope you'll stay around anyway, though. We have a lot planned for both of them!
Bard Linn: Hm....and then we have manipulative!Cloud.
Bard Linn: Here's a fun little fact: Zack in BE is very, very manipulative. Usually for the best reasons, but he's always twisting things for his own benefit - or for what he thinks would be others.
Kiraya: Well, we all have our dark sides.
Bard Linn: Yes. But it adds and interesting dimension to Zack.
Bard Linn: And I love it when Cloud pulls it over on him.
Bard Linn: Also, I love writing happy Aeris + Tifa friendship stuff.
Bard Linn: ...probably because some of the fandom have them have a fit over Cloud. >.>
Kiraya: THEY'RE SO CUTE.
Kiraya: ...that is not so cute.
Bard Linn: I know, but having them have positive interaction is awesome.
Bard Linn: And they ARE cute.
Bard Linn: Can't think of anything else applicable, can you?
Bard Linn: Well then, dear readers, we will see you next chapter! Which hopefully won't take as long as this one. (I'm writing, really.)
Kiraya: *has motivation back, so edits shouldn't take quite so long... for now*
Bard Linn: So until next time, good night!

Date: 2010-02-16 09:06 am (UTC)Have I mentioned how much I love the well done dialogue in this story? And the fact that your characters have actual flaws? So damn awesome.

Date: 2010-02-16 10:34 pm (UTC)I'm glad you like it. We seriously argued about flaws for characters and I love writing dialogue, so that's awesome to hear!
