So, school is out for the summer. What have I been doing? Writing BE, as some of you might have gotten from the notes last chapter. Right now though, that has been put on hold for sewing. It's two weeks (as of tomorrow) untilkiraya and I head to VA for a week, and from there straight to Con.
And of course, the costumes aren't done yet. XD;;;
Some of this is touch up work. Two years ago we did Skuld, Urd and Bell from OMG - well, we got new gloves for Skuld and Urd, so we had to reattach gloves/gems. We also needed to do something with the shoes (the old ones more or less fell apart...) - the good thing is basically all of the revisions to the Goddess are done, or at least usable (touch up here and there that I'll have Kiraya work on while I use the sewing matching for other stuff). Those are our Friday costumes.
For Saturday, we are doing Hokuto, Sei and Subaru from Tokyo Babylon. We're doing Hokuto and Subaru from one of the art book pictures (the blue one with the music note. We were trying to find relatively easy Hokuto costumes) with Sei also in blue (shirt, at least). This has been somewhat challenging asmusicshoes has been away for weeks, and won't be back until after I leave for con. We got most of her dress done, but we still have to hem it and such. Well, she and Mom will handle that, as I will not be here.
Sei is pretty much done - Kir wants to see if she can get some plain lenses in the silver frames I have. For Subaru and Hokuto, I have to cover color coordinated hats, my Subaru-jacket, Hokuto's shoes, her scarf, and do the music note designs for them. Sewing is WORK too - my shoulder is sore from bending weird angles to get it to work. Mom and I hope to get the jacket done tomorrow, which would be awesome, since I think I can handle most of the rest of it myself...
I recently purchased several sets of anime - I love getting series for under 30 bucks. I am currently working my way through Princess Tutu again. I forgot a) how utterly breathtaking this series is and b) a lot of the details. It is also very, very hard to put down once you get past disks 1 (and 4, when things start back up).
I have also been working on dieting and just started exercising again this week. My weight hasn't budged, yet, but it should soon...I want to be healthy! *fighting pose*
