To everyone who keeps telling me/the world how much CC sucks and how the retconning is bad, please go look at the comments in this post. Kiraya and I have handled a lot of the comments I keep hearing. It's not /that/ bad when it comes to retconning compared to some of the things I've seen.
From what I saw of CC I like it, also. I haven't played the game, but it's almost like it's a bad thing to like something about the series or something nowadays...
*nodnod* I feel you! I really liked it, to be honest. I've seen video clips of all the stuff... Hell, I even like Tseng and he's my favorite person xD so...
I think they did a better job than say... another game they've done. Though that is my opinion :P
CC has a lot of good points, and I think it's a lot of fun to play, even though I'm only going on the Japanese version and I know there's a lot I've missed because of that. I'm reserving most of my judgment for when I've had a good look at the English-language version.
My biggest problem in the whole game is Genesis and I've been very vocal with the fact it's mostly because I really don't like Gackt, lol. It shouldn't bother me to the extent that it does, but I can't help it! >.
Look at it this way! YOU GET TO SMACK GACKT. That was so therapeutic for me. (I'm not fond of him either, but my cousins loved him for years. *growls*)
....except most of what you raised was, for me, very easy to understand. EVERYTHING with project G for example. The biggest one was the Nibelheim incident and the Cloud thing at the end.
