Bard Linn: Ahem. Welcome to hell week, where you can study your brains out for the low price of your sanity!

Bard Linn: ....Oh wait. That's not what I meant....

Kiraya: Or spend all your time writing papers. :P

Kiraya: ...though really, who am I kidding, there?

Bard Linn: Somehow I doubt you are spending all of your time writing papers.

Bard Linn: Exactly.

Bard Linn: No one.

Bard Linn: However, despite our difficulties, we have managed to update this week! Not QUITE on the usual schedule, but still!

Kiraya: It's been a long semester, and we need a break.

Bard Linn: If I can just Survive until Thursday afternoon....

Kiraya: *patpat* You'll be fine, dear.

Bard Linn: *deathpan* We moved our sessions from 10-8 to 9-8.

Kiraya: ...... *sigh*

Bard Linn: (That's AM to PM, dears.)

Kiraya: She's insane, I'm telling you.

Bard Linn: Not denying it.

Bard Linn: Ahem. But more about the chapter and less about my obsessive compulsive sanity depriving habits....

Bard Linn: I'm rather happy with how this chapter came out.

Kiraya: My favourite part is still the Vin-Cloud scene at the end. <3

Bard Linn: Yes, I really do like that!

Bard Linn: But also, we have Reno for the first time on page!

Kiraya: I was kind of nervous about him, actually.

Bard Linn: He's hard to write because there is so much more to him than what he shows.

Kiraya: Reconciling the playful, goofy side with the cold hard killer so that he doesn't seem to bounce between extremes so easily.

Bard Linn: Very much so. I know some of the readers have been waiting for him - I hope you enjoy him and I do promise he will be back. He shows up quite a bit more than I expected at first, actually.

Kiraya: Probably because some of the boys have a tendency to shove their way more into it once they show up.

Kiraya: (I'm looking at you, Chaos.)

(Chaos: *does a reasonable impression of lifting an eyebrow*)

Bard Linn: Other than that, this chapter could be called the "birthday filler" chapter, in which we try to cover a LOT of time at once without (x months later, +/- y days) syndrome. I'm sure some of you would like the story to get back to the plot, after all. I'm sure that its around here SOMEWHERE....

Kiraya: ...I think it might pick up next chapter. Maybe the chapter after?

Bard Linn: Something like that. *waves hands* I'm too tired to check.

Kiraya: And I'm distracted by baatezu.

Bard Linn: Er, yeah. Whatever.

Bard Linn: So anyway, fair readers, I think we shall say goodbye for this post. We shall see you next week!

Kiraya: Next month, dear.

Kiraya: After the holidays.

Bard Linn: Right. Next month.

Kiraya: So happy whatever you celebrate, and a good New Year's!

Bard Linn: See, I told you I need sleep! Next thing you know I'll be saying the Pythagoreans discovered complex numbers.

Bard Linn: Yes! Enjoy the holidays, and your vacation if you get it. See you soon!

Heeee. Reno with his inuendos and Cloud with his innocent naivety. XD And he finally hit puberty! *giggles* Poor little Cloud. I forsee him staying quiet a lot more until his voice quits cracking. Though I'd love to see the Vincent-Veld reunion. *grins* Maybe it'd start that revolution starting sooner rather than later, as the Turks loose some of their loyalty in their current administration.

Though mind, the Turks should have no claim on him since they can only pull SOLDIER candidates first time around.

Both. Turks might try to "adopt" him and seduce himself to their side. And Reno? Has taken him under his wing. XD Reno firmly believes nobody should remain that naive while in Midgar/the Army.

Like they'd operate by the rules anyways. If they really want him, they'd find a way to get him. They are the turks, aren't they?

*grins* Isn't he? Reno is very, very fun. And I get the feeling that Cloud would get along with Rude. Him being so very used to being around the Strong, Silent Type.

Point. And I suppose they'd want a good contact within Soldier other than Zack. So maybe they'd just keep on friendly terms with him. Having a pseudo-Turk in the ranks of Soldier.

Actually, on the subject of Veld, I'm guessing that although you have him there, you may not be playing out the BC events in the background, huh? Not that I blame you, it's hard enough finding info on all the episodes for BC (in english) as is.

Anyhow, good to see another chapter. :)

You'd have to ask Kir that. The only type of demons I know are Math Demons.

No, BC events are not happening in the background. In fact, our Veld and Canon!Veld are probably pretty different, but Tseng really shouldn't be leader yet (age and experience wise) so we figured we'd keep Veld in and play with him!

I loved the Reno-Cloud interaction to death. It just makes me giggle how anything sexual still goes so far over Cloud's head that you have to wonder if he has hormones at all. Well, he obviously does, now that his voice finally cracked! I probably shouldn't be giggling like a fiend over that mental image, because it really leaves boys with very little dignity, but... ah, adorable! *squees*

And Vincent, Vincent you angst-ball... have a little more faith in people. They all love you, not just your fans. XD

Reno was the Zack to Tseng’s Sephiroth.<.i> Now you say it... XD I can understand why Reno is hard to write, and I think you did a very good job. He may be joking with innuendos but he's still a Turk in the way he is curious about Cloud.

Maybe I do too much statistic these days too, but now Chaos theory never seemed so attractive...

Makes sense, huh? Mind, if Reno's age is around Cloud's like we think, they probably never met in canon in ShinRa, but its an amusing image.

Reno is like two people in some respects. We're almost trying to blend FF7!Reno (cold, sarcastic jerk who drops the plate) and AC!Reno (who saves kids and jokes around). I'm glad we have him right!

Well, you'll be having that EVENTUALLY.

Almost done! This time tomorrow I'll be relaxing. ^_^ I know what you mean. XD The thought had occurred to me.
