Bard Linn: Hello everyone! Sorry for the late post, but this was finals week making things...interesting. Not to mention this is a LONG chapter.

Kiraya: Nibelheim kind of ran away with us in that respect, though...

Bard Linn: Vincent and Sephiroth finally meet!

Kiraya: This is the chapter, ladies and gentlefolk, in which we can pretty much say our final farewells to canon.

Bard Linn: *waves good bye to canon*

Kiraya: It's been fun, and we'll still be using bits and pieces of it, but as far as the timeline goes? Gone.

Bard Linn: Done. OVER WITH. Too bad Cloud didn't have to tie them up though.

Cloud: *stands victorious over Vincent and Sephiroth*

Zack: ...... o_O

Cloud: now TALK you two before I get out the torture equipment.

Vin: ...... *sulk*

Seph: DO something, Lieutenant. >_<

Zack: ....um...I'm not sure if I want to take that chance....

Seph: *exasperated sigh*

Bard Linn: Cloud is so cute. *pats him* I especially love how he yells at Sephiroth to not hurt Vincent.

Kiraya: Despite how much he admires Seph, Vin's been almost like a father to him for years, and no way is he going to let anything happen to him. The two of them are adorable.

Bard Linn: *loves them*

Bard Linn: And Hellmasker showed up right on schedule. Unlike some OTHER people I could mention. *cough*spoiler*cough*

Kiraya: ...yes, well, that was an accident.

Bard Linn: But such a FUN accident. >3

Kiraya: True. Not so fun for Vinny-chan, but...

Bard Linn: Fun for me. Which is of course all that matters. [/ego]

Kiraya: Yes, dear. *patpat*

Bard Linn: .....are you implying I'm delusional again?

Bard Linn: *is not delusional! really!*

Kiraya: Have I ever implied that you are?

Kiraya: Would I ever? Not me!

Bard Linn: .......its the way you LOOK, sir.

Bard Linn: I'd have to be blind not to figure that one out.

Kiraya: Yes, well... sometimes your ego DOES get ahead of you a little, Lieutenant...

Bard Linn: :P:P:P:P:P

Kiraya: Nobody's perfect.

Bard Linn: I beg to differ.

Bard Linn: Ahem. We also get to see more of Arthur and Cloud's mom in here, both of whom I adore.

Kiraya: I remember way back in November, when Arthur was just Expendable Soldier #46C...

Bard Linn: The fact you remember his number identification amuses me far more than it should.

Kiraya: Ahh, how things change as we develop the story.

Kiraya: Hush. I found it amusing.

Bard Linn: You never did say why you picked that combination. Any reason?

Kiraya: ...not particularly, no. Just seemed appropriate at the time.

Kiraya: That, and I tend to pick stuff close to 47; it's my favourite number.

Bard Linn: *nod*

Bard Linn: Oh, made fun of game mechanics in here again too.

Kiraya: I had so much fun with the materia geekery in this chapter.

Bard Linn: You did. It was amusing to watch.

Kiraya: *was lame enough to go research just what kind of materia would have the desired effect on Vinny-chan*

Bard Linn: But that's part of what makes you such a good writer. You love to research.

Bard Linn: *hates research*

Kiraya: For fic, yes.

Kiraya: Unfortunately, I hate researching for school.

Kiraya: Oh well.

Kiraya: ...and then I always spend so much time on the stupid little details that nothing
ever gets written.

Bard Linn: Hm...I can't think of anything else....

Kiraya: Except for the obligatory love-Zack-Seph-interaction comment, again.

Bard Linn: *yawn* In that case, I guess we'll see you all in two weeks. Things will be a little more fluid in terms of writing and posting with summer - vacations, work, ect - but we'll try to stay on track.

Kiraya: Next chapter: the drawing of straws! What happens traveling to the reactor! How the residents of Nibelheim will react to our heroes!

This IS Nibelheim The Incident time period. Hojo was definetly around if he caught Zack and Cloud in canon. The Turks make sense too.

Yes, but I thought they got there after Sephiroth's mind had a melt-down. ... though that would imply they had someone there to keep tabs on the situation, so yeah, it still fits. ^^ Nevermind.

Yes. Yes they are. Sephiroth could use some good mother-henning. Lord knows he didn't get enough of it as a kid except from possibly Professor Gast, while he was still around.

Exactly. Nibelheim totally screamed set up in the game. Personally I've always been of the opinion Hojo knew - or at least hoped - Seph would loose it. Nibelheim's on the other side of the world after all. Its not like you can get there in a few hours. *cough*Squarefailsatlogistics*cough*

It had to be a set up. No way in hell Hojo would just leave information like that just laying around for anyone to find, not when he's as paranoid as he is. After all, he killed Gast over the stuff. And since I'm sure he had more than a few ideas on what the proximity of Jenova would do to Seph, yes, I have no doubt that he had his minions on the look out for either a "clean-up" or report on what happened. They're just as good at logistics as they are physics!

Actually, if you go here, http://xthost.info/ffwebnovel/ , and read the episode about the Nibelheim Incident it hints that Hojo didn't want Sephiroth to go crazy,but I'm not sure about whether not he planned for Sephiroth to go there. (I am a slave to run on sentence ;_; Although, I'm nothing compared to Fernanda from 100 Years of Solitude >.O[insert more inane rambling here])

He might not have wanted him to go insane, but he'd still have someone there in order to make a report later as to how exactly he reacted to his "mother" and how the Jenova cells in him reacted to their original body being so near. *shrugs* Either way, he and his minions were there.

I loved how you described the setup of this whole scenario. In the game, the whole Nibelheim thing was terribly suspicious from the start. I mean, who sends Sephiroth out to deal with a dragon or two? *shakes head*

My bemusement at the names of Cloud's parents makes a re-emergence. Cloud's a hobbit!

I love the mention of the materia from the white chocobo! That chocobo's owner annoys me in the game though, she runs around like a headless chicken in all the Mideel shops!
And research is the god of fanfics! Besides, researching the best spell means you had that cute anecdote for Zack to come up with! ^_^

So... now that Seph knows better how will he react to Jenova?

Happygooey Fangirl Translation: Let me bear your children, and, damnit, more. Love the character interaction, sneakyCloud, Zack because he just deserves it, and the Zack and Seph interaction. Sorry for the rather late comment, I'd been wanting to do giftart but, because I can't draw humans worth anything I did it with chocobos (and Vincent wasn't finished until yesterday so... Blarg)
