Bard Linn: Hello again everyone!
Kiraya: We hope you enjoyed the third chapter of BE. :)
Bard Linn: This was a fun chapter to write...even if we upped the number of Cloud-physical-torture to three. ^^;
Kiraya: ...you really ARE planning on keeping track, aren't you?
Bard Linn: Moi? *looks innocent*
Kiraya: Though actually, the dragon-attack was mostly my fault... >..>
Bard Linn: You WERE the one who crispified him. And my sister mentioned that this is a third degree burn and went on and on about how you should treat it, btw.
Kiraya: *coughs* Well, I'm quite sure Vincent knew what he was doing. And the Restore materia helped a lot, weak though it may be.
Bard Linn: But we are getting ahead of ourselves, aren't we. The beginning of the chapter is part of our ongoing attempt to keep Cloud relatively NORMAL.
Kiraya: Because really, what fun is a perfect character?
Bard Linn: It hasn't been easy, but it has been rather interesting. ^^
Kiraya: That it most definitely has. ^..^
Bard Linn: I particularly like the image of the "Vincent-radar". Cloud: BEEP! Look, a
Vincent! BEEP! Another one!
Kiraya: ...I don't think the world could handle two Vincents. o..o
Bard Linn: Sure it could.
Kiraya: Oh really?
Bard Linn: I think so.
Bard Linn: If it can handle....seven or eight Eds at last count....
Kiraya: *brain breaks* You win.
Bard Linn: *WINS!*
Kiraya: :P
Bard Linn: We start to mention Cloud’s weaponry in here. Yes, sword will be Cloud's primary weapon, but Vin can't teach him it. (We want to keep Vincent with flaws too!)
Kiraya: And besides... a Turk with a sword? It just doesn't really work. Not exactly the kind of thing easy to conceal upon one's person.
Bard Linn: Nope.
Kiraya: I rather like staff-wielding Cloud, though.
Bard Linn: He's cute. Especially with the cape. Besides, knowing how to use a staff is useful. A lot of stuff can be used like one in a pinch, if you understand what I mean.
Kiraya: And the Turks probably see a lot of pinches. :P
Bard Linn: 'cept Cloud wouldn't make a good Turk... Speaking of weapons! Vin's boots.
Kiraya: ...are a little creepy. Very, um. Pointy.
Bard Linn: We decided it must be Hojo's fault.
Kiraya: But then again, isn't everything?
Bard Linn: Cause that's rule 1 of Final Fantasy VII: It's Hojo's fault.
Kiraya: Exactly. >D
Bard Linn: I can see Hojo attempting to put together the MOST ridiculous looking thing to dress Vin in.
Kiraya: Maybe not THE most ridiculous.
Bard Linn: True. He didn't pick a pink bunny suit.
Kiraya: ...oh gods, I have this sudden vision of Hojo playing with Vin like a Barbie doll. @..@
Bard Linn: ....*falls over laughing* Hojo: Let's add this feather boa.....
Kiraya: Why can I only find ONE of the shoes, dammit?!
Bard Linn: Now, where did I put those earrings....
Kiraya: Oooh, the pattern in this miniskirt should really bring out your eyes, Vinny-chan...
Bard Linn: Vincent: DEATH. *LIMITBREAKMAXIMUM*
Bard Linn: Course, that would kinda kill the story, wouldn't it. ^^;
Kiraya: ...I would love to see that drawn, though. XD
Bard Linn: Me too. But alas, I can't draw. As earlier attempts have shown. >.>
Kiraya: I need to find my doodlemuse. It seems to have disappeared somewhere.
Bard Linn: Ficmuse is more important.
Kiraya: True.
Bard Linn: I do feel a bit bad about not letting Cloud see the cave again though.
Kiraya: Maybe someday...
Bard Linn: Hm....
Kiraya: I find myself enjoying Vincent's transformations much more here in BE than in-
game.
Bard Linn: Being as I never managed to get him out of the BLOODY COFFIN I'll take your word on that. Stupid Vincent. *kicks him*
Kiraya: Well, the still-having-control-of-him-after-he-changes bit is nice, for one. :P
Bard Linn: Very true. Shooting off fire spells at fire monsters = very bad thing.
Kiraya: Damn you, Galian Beast. Damn you. *shakes fist*
Bard Linn: I'm rather fond of this last scene with Vincent and Cloud discussing what happened to him. It might seem a bit off for Vincent to explain, but I think it makes sense when you consider how close they are. Cloud is basically Vincent's one living friend and the only person who knows about him. In a positive sense. I mean, Hojo and crew know about him, of course.
Kiraya: But this is the first person he's known in a long time who he could actually trust. With the possible exception of Lucrecia.
Bard Linn: Right. Vin wouldn't want to loose Cloud. Turning into a giant monster thing tends to frighten people!
Kiraya: Unless it's really pretty, like Tengaiou. Even that's a bit unsettling the first time, though.
Bard Linn: Who?
Kiraya: The main character's ultimate fusion form in Shadow Hearts II.
Bard Linn: Ooooooh….. Hm. I think there's only the outtake left, right?
Kiraya: Left? :P
Bard Linn: Center

Kiraya: Inside out.
Bard Linn: You're turning me?
Kiraya: GAH. ...okay, I forgot where we were.
Bard Linn: Outtake.
Kiraya: Outtake, outtake...
Vincent: For reasons that I have Not Yet Revealed, I do not wish to stay in the ShinRa Mansion unless I have to. Come, Cloud. Let us go and build me a house.
Cloud: But Master Vincent, we do no have the funds to build you a magnificent residence such as the one in which we currently stand.
Vincent: Fear not! For with my excellent skills I hath slain many monster and traded them for riches. Now, off we go!
*The pair leave and arrive at...Home Depot!*
Cloud: Vincent, I was not aware there was such a store in tiny Nibelheim.
Vincent: Nor was I, Cloud. Nor was I.
Bard Linn: And so, the mighty pair purchased their materials. Alas, they did not have the skills to make a very good house and ended up with a shack instead.
Kiraya: It's a nice shack, though. Very serviceable. Should last a good long time, barring disaster. *cough*
Bard Linn: Interestingly enough, local papers began running stories about the mysterious vampire who had transformed a chocobo into his servant and visited the building store.
Kiraya: And the Planet said, "WTF. We don't recall anything about making vampires..."
Vincent: *stomps in* Okay, this who vampire thing has gone too far.
Bard Linn: Hey, you aren't supposed to be in here! Get back in the story!
Kiraya: I need you here in eleven, Vinny-chan. Pleeeease?
Cloud: *makes his way in as well* And is it SO MUCH to ask that people lay off the chocobo joke? Gods, you people and your fandom clichés.
Kiraya: *whistles innocently*
Bard Linn: It's just the notes, Cloud. *glances at Kiraya* I think we better wrap this up before they get restless and pull out the weapons. Anyway, we should see you guys again two weeks from today. (By which time we’ll be back in school. :S) As always, if anyone sees any errors we missed let us know so we can fix it!
Kiraya: For though it paralyses me with guilt to know I let errors slide, it's even worse when they're there and we don't know about it.

Date: 2006-01-15 03:57 am (UTC)This chapter, like all the others, was absolutely brilliant. *sigh* I love this story in SO MANY WAYS I can't even explain it. *huggles BE* You totally rock, Linn. Like WHOA.

Date: 2006-01-15 07:38 am (UTC)I have a suspicision that one of the latter BC Turks has a sword.
Cloud: *makes his way in as well* And is it SO MUCH to ask that people lay off the chocobo joke? Gods, you people and your fandom clichés.
It's a fandom cliché with a solid grounding in canon! After all, Tifa observes the exact same thing when the active team goes and visits the nest of chicks on the Corel train tracks. I even have the picture (somewhere) to prove it! ^_^

Date: 2006-01-15 03:01 pm (UTC)Yes, we know. But that hardly matters as this is all silly outtake stuff anyway.

Date: 2006-01-15 03:53 pm (UTC)Loved both the chapter and the outtake. You guys are good together, and that makes me happy in newfic ways. The interaction between Cloud and Vincent is great, and I love Cloud!torture, and this goes right along with that. *evil smirk*
The outtakes made me attempt to choke on my own tongue. Especially the bit about the news stories. Poor Cloud and his chocobo head, and Vincent with his vampy looks. *grins more* Oh, I can't wait for more to come out.

Date: 2006-01-15 09:09 pm (UTC)We have an amazing amount of Cloud!Torture, considering we weren't even trying to do that. o.O

Actually I believe you are not that far from the mark. The boots and the claw match after all. I don't really know if it's canon, fanon or a fic interpretation of the facts, but it had to do with Hojo constant mental torture of his 'subjects'. the Claw was to make him a monster as it cannot be removed or exchanged for a more human like prosthetic thing Like the Barret one in AC. It had some Lucretia implications too. You know how Hojo likes degrading people under his scalpel.
By the way I love your fic.
Pd.: If this shows up twice, sorry forgot to log in ^___^U

Date: 2006-12-10 11:00 am (UTC)Something about wondering how much damage they do in a fight.
I just got this image of a Vincent charcter sheet, with something like 3D6 written for Damage. By d6 i mean dice obviously.
Nice work again!
