Yeah, I saw that. I had to delete all mention of "twincest" and "fake incest" from an RP journal (I PLAY HITACHIIN HIKARU, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD), and I made sure that every mention of "Lolita" in my personal profile made 100% sure that I was talking about the FASHION, not Nabokov. What the hell. :\

I co-mod the Gothic and Lolita Fashion equivalent of fandom_wank, and since the other mod is out of town right now, it's up to me to let the members (most of whom are NOT in fandom) know about this. Since apparently a Spanish language comm about the Nabokov NOVEL was suspended, I don't want to take any chances with my own community.

...actually, disabling searching wouldn't be a bad idea. Know how to do that?

Not at the moment, but I'll look into it. It's bound to be in the FAQ, if nowhere else.

Scroll down to the bottom here and it'll tell you how to minimize searching stuff. Basically, you go into Viewing Options and check the "Minimize your journal's inclusion in search engine results" option near the bottom of the page.

Once you do that, you can disable indexing in LJ Seek, though I don't know what the hell indexing is anyway.

This one isn't. One comm got deleted lost four years of stories. Somehow I don't think that's a joke.

Suddenly, my own inherent paranoia no longer seems paranoid enough. Since they fixated on shota as a bannable term, and since shounen ai ISN'T shota but the words could be misinterpreted that way... I just turned my deadly boring profile bio even more deadly boring.

Thanks for the warning, and man, am I disgusted with the level of overreacting involved at the moment.

I point out the personal journal of a person who's openly advertising and selling illegally bootlegged material and the Abuse team tells me there's nothing they can do about it.

Meanwhile, they start banning fiction communities and roleplaying journals over the mere mention of buzzwords.

There's just something disgustingly wrong with the way lawyers and the threat of lawyers affect freedom of speech: freedom of speech to advertise some illegal things (and the guy doesn't even get a warning out of it), but no freedom of speech to write *fiction* about others (and ficjournals get banned without warning)... yeah, great consistency of enforcement there, guys.

I'm now a bit paranoid about a random person who contacted me on AIM.

They started asking about my interests, particularly ones like incest.

Now I just wiped several interests out of my profile but before I did, the only incest one I had was "fictional incest".

I'm starting to wonder if that was someone trying to catch another suspected pedophile?

My interests list is small and dinky and very uninformative and never updated, and I'm glad of that now.
