wayya, who isn't reading it at the moment because she hasn't gotten a chance to play the game yet, but comments and lets me know she hasn't missed it and will be on it as soon as she finishes the game. Wayya, you're a jewel. I'm so glad to have you as a friend!
Chapter 2
It’s been barely a week since I was found and brought to The World That Never Was, but to me it seems all I am managing to do is make every mistake possible. I had ticked off Larxene by messing with her books in the library, had managed to disrupt one of Vexen’s experiments and had lost several games to Luxord, which had resulted in having to do some rather – humiliating tasks.
I shudder. The less thought about those, the better.
“And here’s where our latest member has been hiding!” I look up, my body tensing as a cloaked and hooded figure approaches me. The voice sounds normal enough, but I have no urge to find myself the victim of yet another member’s cutting remarks. “What’s your name, kid?”
“Roxas.”
“Well Roxas,” the figure pushes back his hood to reveal a mass of spiky red hair even more gravity defying than my own, “I’m Axel, Number Eight. Please to make your acquaintance.” He bows, voice and manner just ever so slightly mocking. “Let’s go.”
“Huh?”
“I’m your guide. Got it? No one ever bothered to show you around this place. No wonder you’re stepping on everyone’s feet,” Axel replies.
“Hey!” I snap. “That’s not my fault – ” If someone had just explained this place to me in detail I wouldn’t have gotten in nearly the same amount of trouble. I’m not an idiot, after all.
“Hey, you must be the new one! Pleased to meet ‘ya!”
Number Eight and Number Thirteen turn to the approaching figure. Axel sighs. “Demyx. Number 9.” He eyes the figure with distaste. “What do you want?”
I can’t help but feeling Axel doesn’t like Demyx. Not so much dislike as…contempt? I shake my head. Nobodies can’t feel emotions; I’ve been told that from day one and I need to remember it this time.
“Well, Saïx said that he needed you to go and do Heartless duty – ”
“Don’t try it, Demyx. I’m not taking your job. I have one of my own.” Axel gestures to me. I was his job? I wasn’t sure I liked that. Turning to address me, he points to the door. “We’ll start with Addled Impasse and go from there.”
“Addled Impasse?” I raise an eyebrow, unable to shake the feeling that was a rather odd name for a place.
Axel smirks. “Well I didn’t name it.”
“Someone has issues.”
“Kid, one thing you’ll learn soon enough. We all have issues.”
Over the next few days I learned all I needed to about the behavior patterns of the twelve other Organization members under Axel’s excellent guidance. (Sometimes Demyx’s ‘help’ which usually turned out to be more of a problem than an aid. The musician can be amusing, but he’s not very effective, especially when it comes to fighting. Still, I find myself liking him more than say, Larxene.) Things grow easier as I begin to realize where you didn’t want to go when – or ever, in some cases – and who you didn’t bother, unless you had a Very Good Reason. Xemnas was top amongst these, if for no other reason than the fact you would be treated to a very long, not necessarily coherent, speech about Kingdom Hearts and The Quest to Become Whole, which is something I still don’t quite understand.
It doesn’t take long for me to realize something. Everyone does about the same thing every day. They repeat, for lack of a better word. Very much like a dance. They follow the same patterns over and over until a new element – like me – is introduced and the pattern alters. With Axel’s help, I’ve learned how to start my own pattern.
Things look pretty good. Maybe I can find my place here.

Sora wakes slowly. He has been a bit apprehensive at trying to view Roxas’ memories after last night when he had seen – lived, really, – Roxas’…birth? Creation? Whatever you would call the beginning of a Nobody’s existence, but tonight was rather tame in comparison. He stands and gets out of bed, quickly readying for the day. He still had school to attend, even with his “extra” learning at night.
Which is a shame, because these living memory dreams seem to take as much out of him as if he was actually there. He’d much rather just go back to bed instead of trying to master algebra. The Keyblade Master whistles as he skipped down the stairs, cheerful despite being tired. It took a great deal to make him depressed, especially when he knew he was going to see Riku and Kairi today. Not even school could stop that.
“Sora! Walk on the stairs. You’ll kill yourself!” His mother chastises him then glances at her son. “Where did you learn that song? I’ve never heard it before.”
The blue-eyed teen stopped, abruptly realizing he was whistling one of the very tunes he had heard Demyx play last night. “Don’t remember,” he fibbed, hoping his mother would buy it. “What’s for breakfast?”
The woman looked slightly concerned but allowed the matter to drop. Sora sighed in relief. Still, that had been odd. Who had known things from the dreams would carry over to the real world?

Date: 2006-12-03 09:03 pm (UTC)No quibbles this time, except the sentence "Things grow easier as I begin to realize where you didn’t what to go when -" (in chp2), that is very confusing for me, and I can't say if it's normal or not. And you said "end of chapter 1" for the chapter 2 too.
Also, just so you know, chapter 2 isn't in your archive.
I hope I'm not too annoying ^^;no subject
Date: 2006-12-07 06:26 pm (UTC)Ahaha...that's supposed to be "where you didn't want to go when" I think. XD *fixes*
And you're never too annoying! *snuggles*
