Prof: Last time I said I shall flip a coin. Heads, you get a quiz. How many people want a quiz? (No one raises a hand) Okay, no quiz!

Class: *shocked*

Later -
Prof: So, we shall call it a success if the pilot is shot down and a failure if he is not finished. (And yes, this is a pilot on our side, not an enemy!)

Still later-

Prof: Is everyone still awake? (He asks this question a lot.) *sees student in back with head down, apparently asleep.* Oh! *draws 'ZZZZ' on board*

Class: *dies laughing*

Example 2-

Prof: On I-95, Johnny drives 90 mph all the time - maybe better say whenever possible.

Still even later:

Prof: Oh, this is hard sumation. This = :( :( (He drew them on the board!)
