For
sky_dark's birthday! I'm sorry this is late (and I have the sinking feeling the idea might have been done before, but I got the bunny months ago!). I hope you had a wonderful day.
Dance
Edward Elric is an interesting subject to watch. He is undeniably a brilliant genius in his own right and wonderful to look upon as well with his strange looks, even for an outlander. Or perhaps I should say for an inlander, since we are now the outlanders here.
Still, there is one thing about Edward Elric that bothers me. He has been taught to fight, true. But it is an awkward style, unsuited to his own beauty and intelligence. I frown as I see him tackle yet another stranger. The strength is there, as is the will but not the skills. Not yet. I must do something about this.
To leave such an artist with imperfect tools is a true sin.
He looks surprised at my offer and then wary. Considering how I have treated him in the past I can not blame him. Still, he eventually accepts and we begin. Edward is a good student, far better than many I have seen. He is not afraid to put in long hours and huge amounts of effort. The results become noticeable almost immediately and I can’t help but be pleased. He takes to the sword well; they make a stunning image in the twilight. Edward looks as if the sword was an extension of his hand.
No wonder they call him “Fullmetal.”
Still, as I watch I can’t help but admire his form. I am young after all and am hardly committed to anyone, save my own people and my goals. It would be nice to have someone to abate my loneliness for a bit; Edward seems to fit the bill. Beautiful, intelligent, skillful…he would make a wonderful lover.
So I began the courting. Sadly, it seems Edward is ignorant of the traditions of our people and does not recognize it as such. He begins to avoid me, appearing only for our lessons.
Then through our lessons I must ensnare him.
We began work on a different piece last week. I haven’t told him, but this is not an attack or defense pattern. This is one of the “lover katas,” a simple dance between partners. It took quite some time, but today Ed manages it perfectly. I move into opposite position, mirroring his moves flawlessly. We dance together, moving in and out in a complex sequence, ending mere inches from each other.
“What exactly is the point of this?” Ed asks, his breathing hard. I don’t answer but place my hand on his cheek. His eyes widen in shock as I kiss him gently. Surely now he will see the reason behind all of this…. “What are you…ACK! Stop that!”
Maybe not.
