Nina smiled up at Izumi and dug into the food the alchemist placed in front of her. The Gate spirit reflected she had been exceedingly lucky. Eliminating Tucker had been necessary and her fellow spirits had been more than happy to devour his soul. Izumi’s entrance could have spelled disaster as Nina presented a rather incriminating image. But Izumi had seen the Gate. She had been touched by THEIR hands and as such was far more open to THEIR influence.

Now Nina was slowly gaining control over the alchemist. Not as quickly as she had with Tucker of course, but the result would be far more pleasing. Izumi had far more skills than the former State Alchemist. And she was currently deeply involved in the Elric case. This allowed Nina to further her plans concerning the two empty shells left by Hohenheim’s youngest son and his female lover.

“You did a good thing last week Nina,” Izumi smiled at the girl.

“Then it worked?” Nina asked doing her best to look innocently curious.

“Yes,” Izumi replied, “the books you told us about had several principles that allowed us to essentially freeze Al and Riza’s bodies. It should buy us some time.”

“I’m glad! Papa used those books to freeze some things before. I remember seeing him do it.”

“Well, you’re a very smart girl to remember that,” Izumi patted the child on her head. “Make sure to tell me if you think of anything else.”

“I will!” Nina cheered. Izumi left. “You can count on it,” the child smirked. She abruptly glanced out the window. “Whose there?”

Silence reigned for a moment. Then the window shattered.

When I killed off Tucker I was like "YES! One more character I don't have to keep track of! Then I realized this was LG and death doesn't mean a thing. *headbook* So, now Nina has sacrificed his soul. Therefore he no longer exists. And, if anyone wants to WRITE that scene, be my guest. I know some people were hoping to see Tucker tortured.
