Humans are aligned to all elements to an extent, though some identify much more strongly with one element than another. So, in other words, if you throw a human into the mix, allllllll the rules go out the window.
(I believe that Charles is an Air, like Schneizel. Schneizel is Lelouch's only half brother here - he's the result of Charles' official bonding.)
