Bard Linn: Hello and welcome to BE 30! *flops on the ground*

Kiraya: *pats* Our dear Bard Linn has been working too hard.

Bard Linn: Well, I just started getting ready for school - first real teaching job!

Bard Linn: Sadly, its majorly cutting into my writing time, which may affect updates in the future. :(

Kiraya: Don't worry, though -- if it does, we won't stop completely. Just slow down a bit.

Bard Linn: *nod*

Bard Linn: So, this chapter....

Bard Linn: Ah. First blatant accusation of Cloud using sex to get special tutoring.

Kiraya: There've certainly been whispers, but this is the first time someone's stupid enough to say it to his face.

Bard Linn: With rather entertaining results.

Bard Linn: I'm rather fond of the scene with Zack and Cloud here.

Kiraya: Zack is such a big brother figure sometimes. <3

Bard Linn: It’s so cute. ^.^

Bard Linn: And Cloud's still all RAWR DON'T INSULT SEPHIROTH.

Bard Linn: He's so cute like that.

Kiraya: Even if his hero-worship complex is all but gone, he still isn't going to let anyone say that kind of thing about one of his teachers.

Bard Linn: Cloud's so protective.

Bard Linn: Er, what happened next?

Bard Linn: Show's how long its been since I wrote this. XD

Kiraya: Well, there's Zack and Seph...

Bard Linn: Discussing Cloud.

Kiraya: Seph brings up a good point; because of their closeness to Cloud, it's difficult to evaluate him objectively.

Bard Linn: Well it is.

Bard Linn: Clearly, they must Send Him On A Quest.

Kiraya: A Quest?

Bard Linn: Well, yeah.

Kiraya: Will this involve dragon-slaying?

Bard Linn: Isn't that how they judged worithness in the Good Old Days?

Bard Linn: Only Hojo Dragons. XD

Kiraya: Zackmuse approves.

Bard Linn: Also, random note: 253 was the room I was in the most for student teaching.

Bard Linn: Which is why it’s in here.

Bard Linn: Oh, and Cloud's sword....

Bard Linn: It is technically the super cool sword from Advent Children, though he only has...how many parts at the moment?

Kiraya: Two.

Bard Linn: Right.

Bard Linn: Also, on the name....

Bard Linn: *sigh* I know were going to get "It's the first Tsurugi (sp)!" reviews, but....

Bard Linn: Well, for one thing it’s a dumb name.

Kiraya: For another thing, it's not technically the sword's name.

Bard Linn: Nope.

Bard Linn: It's...where's that article.

Bard Linn: And I can't find it at the moment.

Bard Linn: But the basic summary, if I recall correctly, was that they said "and Cloud picked up the first sword" and everyone assumed that was the sword's name. I don't think it actually has a name.

Bard Linn: That was the gist of the interview, anyway.

Bard Linn: And in any case, IT'S AU. *glee*

Bard Linn: Zack wasn't around to name it in ACverse.

Bard Linn: ....*steps off soapbox* >.>

Kiraya: Cloud isn't much the type to name things fancy stuff like that, anyway.

Bard Linn: Not really, no.

Bard Linn: Ah, and more Aeris time.

Kiraya: Vincent would frown on stuff like that; it's silly and frivolous.

Kiraya: One can never have too much Aeris. <3

Bard Linn: Nope!

Bard Linn: Two important scenes here - confirming that the Turks are no longer on her tail and being willing to work with Matheson and Reeve.

Bard Linn: Both of which are good things.

Kiraya: She's starting to take a more active role, which is good. <3

Bard Linn: Yup.

Bard Linn: A number of you guessed the thing with Red, I suspect.

Bard Linn: Tifa's letter, of course implying Where In The World Is Professor Hojo.

Bard Linn: *puts red hat on him*

Kiraya: .........I suddenly have the theme song for the old TV show going through my head.

Bard Linn: Me too.

Bard Linn: Oh! And we finally answered the common "What's MMG?" question from a loooooong time ago.

Bard Linn: Other than that....

Bard Linn: Um....

Bard Linn: I think that's it...

Bard Linn: So, I guess we'll see you when we see you!

Kiraya: Everyone wish Bard Linn luck for starting her job -- and happy birthday, too!

Bard Linn: *blush*

Kiraya: We'll see you next time!

Okay, so no "WTF, it's First Tsurugi/First Ken!1!!" wank. Though I was expecting Zack to throw it out as a suggestion, one immediately shot down.

I loved the fight with Zack and Cloud! And the possibility that they might return to Nibelheim again makes me eager for the next chapter. But I will be patient. ...actually I'll probably reread the whole story again in the meantime, 'cause there's probably a lot I've forgotten. But if Cloud's mako compatibility scores changed so much after the first visit, I wonder what a second visit will do...>.>

Just one small note:

While Zack had seen him like this more often than most, and it was a far, far more common expression on Cloud’s face than it was on Sephiroth’s, it never ceased to draw an answering smile him.

I think there should be a "from" before the last word.

Great chapter! I like how Cloud doesn't much care whatever people think of him. He knows what's true of him and what isn't. Also, I hope to see that particular idiot taken down a notch.

Yay a new chapter! I had to go back and re-read the previous chapter to remember wtf the president was talking to Cloud about. I still can't believe it's chapter 30 already! And that there has yet to be an official pairing! *sulks* Oh well, I'm enjoying it so much that doesn't really matter at the moment. Thank you for all the work you've put into this.

Sorry I'm commenting so late, but I'm pretty busy lately ^^; Anyway... Congrats for the 30th chapter! And I loved every bit of it. There's plenty of plots going around on different levels and they mix very well. I have a soft spot for Aeris, Reeve, Matheson and Red plotting a greener Midgar together, but that's certainly my agronomist side talking XD Cloud and Zack fighting together was great too, and I'm so glad you gave Cloud his AC sword - I have an irrational love for this thing ♥

I have a bad feeling about Nibelheim now >.>
