Bard Linn: Hello all, and welcome to BE27! We're sorry for the wait.
Kiraya: Blame end-of-semester insanity.
Kiraya: ...mostly, anyway.
Bard Linn: And somebody typing D&D lists.
Kiraya: *whistles innocently*
Kiraya: But more importantly, congratulations to the graduate. <3
Bard Linn: *bows* Yup, graduation today - also part of the delay, but I'm not going to apologize for that.
Kiraya: I certainly hope not.
Bard Linn: Anyway, on to the chapter.
Kiraya: This is about as long as they're gonna get.
Kiraya: Hopefully. It's hard proofing stuff much longer.
Bard Linn: Yup. 20 pages or so is the max.
Bard Linn: I must admit, I was tempted to have Zack make some crack when Cloud called him Vincent. "Hey, I'm not nearly that old! Do these lovely hands look gold to you?" but that's totally not in keeping with the feel of the chapter.
Kiraya: Also, imagine him trying to explain THAT one to Scott. :P
Z: *to Scott* It's his invisible friend from when he's a child, you seen. *earnest*
S: ............if you say so...... *looks at Cloud dubiously*
Kiraya: Imaginary friends = not a good thing for SOLDIERs to have.
Z: He grew out of it, of course, but when he was all alone in the mountains -
S: ... *looks disbelieving*
C: *still delirious, snatches book up and manages to throw it precisely at Zack*
Z: *to Cloud* If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were fakin' it.
Bard Linn: Zackmuse was briefly confused as to when Sephiroth entered this conversation, before he realized you meant Scott.
Scott: His "anti-Zack nonsense radar" must must be at full strength.
Z: Well, I guess that's a good sign, at least.
Bard Linn: Ah yes, and the introduction of Morgan - she's a fund character. Spunky, but not super strong.
Kiraya: *nod*
Bard Linn: Her main purpose is to represent the Side of Medical Department of ShinRa That Is Not Totally Corrupt.
Kiraya: Somebody's gotta do it, and canon don't exactly offer a lot of options there... :P
Bard Linn: Yeah, really.
Bard Linn: Let's see, some mundane stuff about SOLDIER alterations - this stuff is too much fun to play with, really - and then the Thing With Veld.
Kiraya: Ahh, yes. That.
Bard Linn: Sorry for those of you who were hoping to have Veld'n'Co find out about Hojo's little tricks. Wasn't in the game plan.
Bard Linn: Hopefully his death scene was at least on the nicer side
Bard Linn: And Vin and Cloud at the end. <3 This is one of my favorite scenes with them so far, I think. Bitter sweet, but lovely.
Bard Linn: That's really what this story really boils down to in so many ways. The relationships between Cloud and the rest....
Bard Linn: ...There's a lot of SOLDIER mechanics in here. Promotions info - no canon given, so we're kind of making this all up.
Kiraya: I love the mechanics stuff, though. :)
Bard Linn: I had fun coming up with different noises/ways for Zack to tick off Sephiroth without meaning to. >.>
Kiraya: Sephiroth didn't exactly enjoy it, but that's too bad. :P
Bard Linn: Cloud's obviously going to do well. He'd have to be dunce not to with his teachers.
Kiraya: And Seph wouldn't have bothered if he were.
Bard Linn: Indeed.
Bard Linn: Zack would have lost interest, too.
Kiraya: Even Vin would've, most likely.
Kiraya: ...and poor Cloud would be all on his lonesome.
Bard Linn: ...which leads to Bad Things, so yay not.
Kiraya: *nodnodnod*
Bard Linn: And Arthur is back on the scene, about to serve His Original Purpose of Creation Next Chapter.
Kiraya: THAT is going to be... interesting.
Bard Linn: Oh yes.
Bard Linn: Can you think of anything else?
Kiraya: Nope.
Bard Linn: All right. Well, being as I'm tried from ceremonies and the like, I'm off to bed. Hope you all enjoy this chapter. <3 We'll be back to regular schedule come June - hopefully, anyway.
Kiraya: See you all then!
