Bard Linn: Aeris is fun. <3

Kiraya: I love Aeris. So much. I never thought I would, either.

Bard Linn: Aeris has a lot of unexplored sides to her. I'm looking forward to working with her more.

Kiraya: (And I never thought I'd ever NOT go "ehh..." at the Zack x Aeris thing in this chapter. It's sad what we do to her next chapter, though...)

Bard Linn: (SHHHHHH)

Kiraya: Oh, absolutely.

Bard Linn: I'm sorry, but Zack x Aeris = Linn's FFVII Het OTP!

Kiraya: Ditto. Now, at least. ...actually, I think Zack x Aeris is pretty much the only het pairing I ship. >..>

Bard Linn: *snickers* I've got at least two others, myself.

Kiraya: I dabble in one, but it's cousincest, so sometimes I need a bit of a break from the angst and family issues, you know?

Bard Linn: Most of mine are in B5. SusanxMarcus, OTP FOREVER.

Kiraya: ...anyway, we're rambling.

Bard Linn: Yes, we are. Besides Aeris we also have our first on screen appearance of the Turks!

Kiraya: ...and also our last specific meeting of them for quite some time, alas. But rest assured -- they'll be back.

Bard Linn: *cues Terminator Music* XD Well, things happen. Sadly, they aren't "main" characters, per say. Not even secondary mains - at the moment, though the way things have been going.....

Kiraya: Well, we'll have to see.

Bard Linn: More Zack and Seph interaction! So much fun to write.

Kiraya: I adore those two so very much.

Kiraya: (Biased much?)

Bard Linn: (Naw. We only made them two of the main characters...why?)

Kiraya: (...because they're hot?)

Kiraya: (*flees*)

Kiraya: (And interesting!)

Bard Linn: (*throws geometry text book*)

Kiraya: (Eeeep!)

Bard Linn: Ahem, back on topic....

Kiraya: Where were we?

Bard Linn: Zack and Seph? And probably Zack's rank?

Kiraya: Yes, rank. There's a bit of a story there.

Bard Linn: Yes there is. ....and luckily enough, Kiraya wrote a wonderful fic about it, which will be showing up soon as a side story. But yeah, Zack isn't ranked very high, all told.

Kiraya: Well, he's only... nineteen, twenty-ish. Give him time. He's come very far already.

Bard Linn: Yeah, and we don't want him to be too perfect. That’s no fun. :)

Kiraya: Absolutely.

Bard Linn: Speaking of people not being perfect....we like to embarrass Cloud too much.

Kiraya: ...yeah.

Bard Linn: Personally I think we present a good combination here. Cloud's obviously good, but not exceptional, if you know what I mean. Very good in some areas, absolutely rotten in others and decent in several.

Kiraya: Zack knows what you mean. :P

Bard Linn: *imagines Cloud falling asleep during dinner in the mess and giggles*

Kiraya: ...oh dear.

Cloud: *collapses*

Scott: Cloud? Hey Cloud! *shakes shoulder*

Cloud: Zzzzzzzz

Kiraya: ...at least he finally got some sleep.

Bard Linn: Yes indeed, now that Rude is not stalking him. (Also, all be thankful for Kiraya who kept me from putting in Reno before he was supposed to be in here. I'd get all my timelines crossed if it wasn't for her)

Kiraya: (I'm getting a bit too crazy about the pre-Seph JENOVA Project era-stuff, though...)

Kiraya: But anyway... I think that about covers it for this chapter, unless you have something you'd like to add...?

Bard Linn: Don't think so. I can't remember anything anyway. *goes to sleep herself*

Kiraya: Coming up next chapter...

Kiraya: The SOLDIER exams! See you in two weeks!

Bard Linn: Ja!

Well I was happy to see the Turks - especially since you managed to squirrel in a mention of Veld (I love new canon... sometimes).

It's kinda amusing that the reason Cloud didn't seem good enough for the Turks was because the Turks were seeing if he was good enough.

These chapters don't come out fast enough for me. Between my everpresent need for fanfic and the fact that I have been getting the days of the week messed up since Wednesday I have been waiting for about three days for this.

I was just wondering, you kept making references to Cloud holding back and hiding his true potential. Then you had Zack observe that there was no way Cloud was going to make it into soldier. Is Zack's observation based on an understanding of that holding back or a full realization of Cloud's abilities, or is it based on what abilities Cloud has shown publicly thus far?
By the way, great fic, I'm enjoying it alot ^_^

The real answer is, it doesn't matter.

Zack's observation is based upon what he has actually seen Cloud do. He doesn't realize Cloud has been holding back, though he got a hint of that today. But Cloud's martial art skills aren't what caused Zack to made that declaration. It's something else. And on that judgment, Zack is sadly quite correct. =)

Slightly off topic, but Cloud actually does hold back in the exams as well. He doesn't know the Turks have given up on him, thus preforms at the level he's been at during the program.

He's from Crisis Core, I believe, though I'm not a hundred percent sure. It's a pre-FFVII - of all things - cell phone game featuring the Turks.

btw, your Sephiroth doesn't talk a lot, but each time he does I am pleased. Very pleased. I think I love your Sephiroth. But what I preferred the most is the protecting attitude of Zack towards Cloud. It reminds me of Before Crisis ;_;

Seph is difficult to write. Kiraya is better at him than I am, so he doesn't talk as much as some....because I write a lot. ^^;; I'm trying to get better at him though. He will show up/talk more in the future. :3

I love your writing--it's so concise and just wonderful I can't help but feel slight in comparison. Your writing makes me want to write better.
