bard_linnWell, long time coming but here it is! Since I am now on level 99, with ultimate weapon and going after the side quests….
LINN’S KHII RESPONSE!
First off, GAMEPLAY/MECHANICS
The good:
SCENE SKIP. <3<3<3
Not hiding treasure boxes so they’re almost impossible to find.
Being able to switch the party members in a battle.
All party members get experience.
Differentiating between Proud and Normal mode in the Secret Ending.
Actually getting something for beating Sephiroth (which I haven’t done yet but ya know..)
Limits: Very fun and very useable. Most actually did some significant damage. (Squee Tron, Mulan, Auron <3 and Riku’s!)
The magnet spell.
Item shortcut.
Gummi ships were a lot easier to ‘build’ and more fun to drive.
Selective Voice acting: Sora and Donald made me fall over laughing at all the right times.
The okay:
Drives are very shiny, but not necessary at all (I beat the game without using them once the first time. Not to mention you can’t use them at the end against Xemnas. :/)
Reaction commands: very neat to watch but make the game kind of easy.
Triangle instead of X – meh. No biggy either way.
The bad:
WHERE IS MY DODGE ROLL? WHERE?
Excessive use of minigames. Some were fun (Twilight town for example) but OMG you don’t need one in every world! *cough*singing*cough*
Voice Acting: Most of the FF characters. Yeah. Let’s not go there, k?
Pirates of The Carribian- Elizabeth looked nothing like her actor. I actually skipped through some of those scenes without actually looking at them. >.<
GIVE ME BACK PETER PAN! I MISS BEING ABLE TO FLY! *rage*
THE CHARACTERS
Those I adored:
Sora: Loved him even more in this game than from the last. He’s so human here – the thing with wanting to be a pirate (he grew up next to an island, makes sense much), going to see Santa….it’s so CUTE. He’s fallible, he makes mistakes but guh. So much love.
Roxas: has joined the Spiky Haired People of Square owning a piece of my soul.
Donald and Goofy: Annoying last game but here…that scene with Mickey telling Sora to leave and their response… <3<3<3 And Donald going “that’s an order.” So much love.
Riku: Gets a lot more love for me from this game than last (last I really didn’t like him much) for his actions at the end. The fact he wanted to help Sora but didn’t want to be seen because he wasn’t sure he was going to be forgiven….
Demyx: Run away, run away has become a standard in the family now. XDDD
Axel: Need I say more? He rocks!
(Axel/Roxas is the most canon thing since Seph/Cloud, btw.)
Auron: Haven’t played 10 but he was so cool. <3<3
Tron: I grew up on this game. What can I say? XD And they even got the right voice actor back and everything.
Characters I was “meh” about:
Most of the Organization: Sorry, guys. You did not impress me in your five to ten minute cameos.
The FF characters: Aerith… “open up?” Um, what? That scene with the computer was so weird. Leon was okay but not squeeable. (It’s still weird to see the 7 group following him around.) Yuffie was just…there. Same with Sephiroth, really. [Though that scene with Cloud and Leon: “if one more shows up” makes me laugh.]
Kairi until the Keyblade thing which makes me rage. Please note that I am not against fighting!Kairi; she’s scheduled to fight in Division. I’m against Kairi with a Keyblade. It seems like everyone and their cousin is getting one now and she just gets hers HANDED to her! Riku went through hell with that and Sora had the whole darkness taking over the island having to save everyone and she just gets one HANDED to her! *rage* She’s already a Princess of Heart; she doesn’t need to be a Keybearer too!
Characters that made me twitch:
As much as I hate to say it, Cloud. Sorry, the whole “it’s his fault” thing makes you sound like you’re 13! GROW UP. Though your total obsession over Sephy-chan shows it’s so cannon.
Tifa: WHY ARE YOU GOING AROUND KICKING WALLS? This really ticks me off.BE!Tifa pwns you a zillion times!
Assorted other things:
Super-totally-not-secret-ending: Um…and? No big feeling either way. (Though rewatching deep dive/another story makes me go SQUEE cause I get it now. XD)
Ending proper: Pretty cool, though I, like so many others wonder what’s on that paper.
Can’t think of anything else at the moment. Overall love the game. Must buy both strategy guides one of these days and play them both again.

Demyx is just too cute ^^ I don't want to fight him! I want to use him as a teddy bear!!

"Don't leave me behind!" was followed almost immediately by her being left behind, but it was all good because we got Sora/Riku reconciliation. So sweet! (loves that scene)
