This was actually my first HoS idea. All cute, no angst this time.
Kodak Moment
Pets were something of a constant annoyance for Edward Elric.
Few days passed without either Alphonse or Masuta brought home a new cat. This had become so much of a tradition that Ed’s automatic rants were more of a joke than true frustration. They always managed to find a home for the furballs after all. But when Riza had brought home a new puppy Ed had thrown his hands up in silent capitulation and stalked off to the library.
Black Hayate quickly adopted the little Dalmatian puppy. It was quickly joined by three kittens and their mother. The five lovers found the sight of the puppy and kittens playing together rather amusing though Ed would never admit it.
“Al? Masuta?” Riza looked at the pair in confusion. “What are you doing?”
Al peeked his head over the pile of groceries. “Shopping.” With Edward in the house one had to shop several times a week.
“Where’s Ed?” Roy asked coming up from behind his subordinate.
“Home. He said he had some research he wanted to finish,” Al replied.
“You left him HOME ALONE?!” Roy gaped. How many times had Ed gotten into trouble without someone to look over him? The four exchanged sharp glances. The house might not even be standing when they came back.
“The kittens!” Masuta exclaimed. Al gulped. What would have Ed done with the six demanding animals in the four hours they had left them alone? As a mass the group headed home as quickly as possible burdened with the large bags.
Roy unlocked the door moving stealthily inside. The house was deathly quiet. They spread out looking for the missing blond. His brother found him first. “In here!”
It wasn’t a surprise Edward was in the library. What was a surprise was what he was doing.
Ed lay sprawled out on the rug. To his right lay Black Hayate, to his left the mother cat. Two kittens lay on his stomach while the third moved to nudge the flesh and looking for scratches. The little Dalmatian puppy slept blissfully on his braid next to Hayate.
“I’ll get a camera.”
Ed always seemed some what of an animal magnet to me. We see him with Alexander and Den and a flash back with a cat talking to Trisha. Animals follow Ed, Al follows animals. ^_^ Or at least as far as I can see.
Do I need to say this is unbetaed?
