HoS: High Noon
Set after Daybreak. Implied sex
The silence was starting to get to Ed.
High Noon
It was dark, so dark, and he couldn’t get out. He would never see the others again. No, he had never gotten back. It had all been a dream. He was caught in the Gate with those creatures andHeCouldn’tGetOut!!!
The sound of the phone jerked Ed out of the nightmare. He sat abruptly, still breathing heavilly, and his eyes slowly took in the four bodies lying around him. It took a bit of work but he managed to sneak out of the bed without waking the others. He caught the phone on the fifth ring. “Hello?”
“Edward?”
“Fury?” Ed yawned. “What’s up?”
“Well, the General and Captain Hawkeye didn’t come in yet and I was wondering…”
“They’re asleep,” Ed replied without thinking.
“Oh,” Fury replied. Ed could imagine the flush spreading across the officer’s face. “In that case…”
“I fell asleep right after I got back. They came to bed a little bit later,” Ed set the officer straight. He glanced at the clock. It was eleven already. “Just sign them out for the day. I think they need the rest.”
“They didn’t look good while you were gone,” Fury admitted. “Take care of them.”
“I will,” Ed promised and hung up. He moved about the kitchen, cleaning the left over dishes from the previous night’s feast then went to the library to wait for the others to wake up. He shifted as he tried to focus on his book. Fifteen minutes later he gave up. The house was just too quiet.
The silence brought back memories of his time trapped in the cave. It was so dark and quiet there. Until some of the others managed to remove the debris covering both his legs and right arm he’d been helpless. During that time he'd wondered if he would ever see his lovers again.
Ed caught himself nearly hyperventilating. This feeling of hopelessness was far too familiar. He knew what he needed and he knew the only person who could give it to him.
Ed fled the library, his feet echoing up the stairs as he dashed to the bedroom. The dark haired figure was, luckily, on the right outside edge of the bed. Ed shook his shoulder.
Roy woke abruptly and slowly sat up. His eyes focused on Fullmetal’s face. He recognized that look. Edward was standing on the border of a mental breakdown. He nodded. Ed didn’t wait. He lunged down and seized Roy’s lips. They tumbled back onto the bed.
Roy relaxed and gave control completely over to Edward. The blond needed this. Needed to completely command the situation. This wasn’t the first time they had sex like this. Nor had it always been Edward being the one in control. It was the first time they had to do this since the others had joined them however. Neither would have ever turned to the others for this type of comfort. Ed considered Al and Masuta to be people he had to protect. Riza was female; after the incidents with his mother and Nina, Edward would never willingly harm a female in his life if he could avoid it. Roy could take it. And Roy knew Ed could take it.
When at last they ceased moving and settled again, Ed became aware of a soft voice besides him. “Brother?”
The others. Of course they wouldn’t have slept through that. Ed turned and smiled into his brother’s face. His eyes were softer than they usually were. “Yes Al?”
“Are you alright?”
Ed entwined his fingers with his brothers. “I’m fine.” He didn’t move away from Roy though.
Said officer winced as he tried to move. He’d be feeling that in the morning. Not that he minded. It felt good that Ed would trust him like this. Riza gave him a significant look. Roy merely smiled and snuggled closer to Edward.
Riza, Masuta, and Al looked at each other in confusion. “Did you understand that?” Masuta asked Al, disturbed by how violent Ed had been with Roy.
“No,” Al frowned. “When Brother wakes up, we welcome him back properly.”
Riza didn’t reply. She had a good idea what had occurred. She made a mental note to talk to Ed soon. For now she slid out of bed and headed down to the kitchen. Ed and Roy would be hungry when they woke up, and Ed at least would not be interested in any sort of activity until he was fed. Despite the problems, she smiled. It didn’t matter. Ed was back and together the five of them could face anything.
