HoS: LG: Eyes
This is what we call evil tasters. Will hopefully have Doubles fic "christening" up later.
Eyes (LG)
They called them the windows to your soul. But now Edward’s were like mirrors, seeing everything yet revealing nothing. Twin reflective pools that masked the blond’s emotions.
Masuta shivered looking into those dead orbs. It appeared to be affecting Roy as well. The blond knew something, knew something that the others didn’t. Something he didn’t want them to know at any cost. Masuta had seen glimpses of this before, back when he didn’t know the truth of Edwards’s origins. Roy appeared to be familiar with it as well.
Ed had spent hours in the Oxford library lately. Masuta frowned trying to remember when this pattern had developed. It hadn’t been that long ago…
Right after the fortune teller they encountered. The old gypsy woman who had claimed Edward to be ‘marked by death.’ Masuta remembered Ed brushing her words off then going for a walk. Something had happened then. The blond had returned to the Hugheses’ house quiet and withdrawn. The next day he had vanished to the library.
The Japanese man carefully replaced his notebook to its usual place then went to hunt down his ‘other self.’ If anyone could help get Edward to talk, it would be Roy Mustang.
Because they couldn’t let Edward’s eyes stay dead. Or else the rest of him might follow.
