I’ve mentioned it before, and

A good example of this would be A Long Hard Road. I got into an argument with someone on the characterization of Cloud. For me, it seemed like a believable characterization (and in some ways in line with AC, so there. :P) because it had been five years of war. When circumstances are weighed, it makes perfect sense how broken he is.
Some other things I’ve been seeing lately….do not make so much sense. Some are close so it passes but others? ICK. Especially the ones NOT labeled AU. AU at least gives you some sliding room.
I also acknowledge some of these writers are probably either new to the fandom or writing at all but ….still. Ah well. I’m used to not reading as much fic as I used to.
Well, I’m off to go clean the bathroom and then maybe work on BE17.
P.S. PLEASE people, for the love of whoever you want, if your story isn’t AU don’t have Cloud meet Aeris before game time. Or more accurately, have Aeris meet Cloud. It’s given he would probably forget her. But there is no reason for her to forget him, unless you invent one and explain it. :/ And she shows no signs of knowing him.
Edit: And I swear to God, Square, if you have Cloud and Aeris meet in CC without explaining that issue I will be very angry with you, even if you DO fail at logistics.

... and yes, Squeenix fails hardcore at logistics. We were sitting there last night watching Advent Children and enjoying the magical weapons that get destroyed and somehow reappear in perfect shape in the next scene. ^_^;;;;
