Butterfly Effect: Author's Notes: Chapter 24
Kiraya: Greetings, dearest readers!
Bard Linn: We hope you enjoyed this chapter. After this things start slowly picking up plot wise...and we have a number of really long chapters coming. >.> *writes to much*
Kiraya: Do not.
Kiraya: Write too much, that is.
Bard Linn: Anyway, this chapter we have post!rejection!Cloud.
Bard Linn: Who is, by the way, very much NOT over the whole Aeris thing - he's just ignoring it as best he can.
Kiraya: Poor boy. *pets him*
Bard Linn: And obviously Zack is still carrying a torch for Aeris.
Bard Linn: Or at least cares a great deal still, depending on how you define "torch".
Bard Linn: ...I'm rather fond of the Sephiroth and Cloud scene, myself.
Kiraya: Ahh, Seph. <3
Bard Linn: So serious and firm, but caring in his own way as well.
Kiraya: ...he's actually been in the background a lot lately, though...
Bard Linn: Well, not much we can do about that. Sephiroth and Cloud are rather distant from each other still, far more professional than friends and the story tends to follow the rock thrown in the pond - ie Cloud.
Kiraya: Mmhmm.
Bard Linn: Everyone else sort of fluctuates around him.
Kiraya: Hence "Butterfly Effect."
Bard Linn: Though I mean, they do get their own screen time too.
Bard Linn: Anyway....I'm much amused by the mental image of Zack'n'Cloud on horses, done up all fantasy-knight style battling over Aeris' hand.
Kiraya: Wouldn't they be chocobos, though? :P
Bard Linn: I doubt even chocobos could carry a knight in full armor, somehow.
Bard Linn: *is imagining something out of Pierce's books*
Kiraya: Just stick with a breastplate and greaves, then, maybe gauntlets and a helmet?
Kiraya: ...geez, why are we worrying about the mechanics of this?
Bard Linn: We wouldn’t be us if we didn’t.
Bard Linn: And Aeris sitting next to Sephiroth in the balcony all dressed up? XD
Bard Linn: *is stabbed by Seph for imagining him in a dorky crown*
Kiraya: Sephiroth threatens to kill whomever tries to put him in froufy courtier fashions.
Sephiroth: That would be Rufus or the President anyway.
Zack: Have at thee, uncivilized barbarian! I shall win the fair lady's hand by the grace of the Gods!
Cloud: ....oh bother.
Sephiroth: The sooner you finish this, Strife, the sooner he'll stop.
Cloud: Good point, sir. *chucks a blizzaga at Zack*
Zack: HEY!
Zack: THEY DIDN'T SAY WE COULD START YET!
Zack: And that's cheating! We're supposed to be jousting, with lances and everything! No spells!
Cloud: Since when do I wait to fight when someone tells me to? And as far as the spell front goes, they never said we couldn't.
Vincent: *nods in approval*
Cloud: Being predictable is a weakness, Sinclair.
Zack: Stop trying to pull a Seph on me and let's fight, already!
Zack: WITH WEAPONS.
Cloud: *shoots gun*
Cloud: And the WEAPONS aren't awake
Zack: ...some days I really hate you, you know that?
Cloud: Yes, Zack, I know.
Aeris: *trying desperately to smother her laughter*
Sephiroth: *has ditched court wear and is now signing off on paperwork in the balcony*
Zack: Hey! I thought I told you no work in the stands!
Bard Linn: *snickers* Anyway, other than that we have the first introduction of "Red XIII" in this chapter. Another character soon to be appearing on screen!
Kiraya: The cast will certainly be getting bigger before it gets smaller, that much is for sure.
Bard Linn: Does it ever get smaller, really?
Kiraya: .........actually, now that you mention it...
Kiraya: Not really.
Bard Linn: Didn't think so.
Bard Linn: Also, much love for Zack over the whole Red thing.
Bard Linn: “You want us to break into the tower’s high-tech, heavily guarded science labs, steal a giant cat right out from under Hojo’s nose, and not get caught?” = total love.
Kiraya: Tellin' it like it is; that's our boy.
Bard Linn: *pats him on the head*
Bard Linn: And finally Aeris again, this time slowly developing a backbone against her mother and finding strength to fight Shinra in her own way. Moving a bit more towards Game-Aeris, which makes sense as she's 19/20ish around here.
Kiraya: Yup.
Bard Linn: Aeris is fun to write, actually. Especially since her Cetra abilities aren't all THAT strong in many ways - she only hears the Planet in the Church in game, for instance. So balancing Cetraness with Humanness can be much fun.
Kiraya: That'll definitely be interesting to play with, indeed.
Bard Linn: Well, I think that's it for this chapter.
Kiraya: I can't think of anything else...
Bard Linn: Then we'll see you all March 10th!
