Car Fiasco Redux

So, my car has been in the shop. This does not bother me, as I don’t go anywhere anyway. However, my parents left me the white care and asked me to pick up my sister and my dad, then run by the shop and pick it up. Simple thing, yes? Except when it came time to do it, I realized one important thing.

I HAD NO CAR KEYS.

So I start calling everyone I can possibly think of. Mom’s cell: off. Dad’s cell: Off. Neighbor whose kid I was also going to get: Her mother say she’s out of the house. I go next store and beg a ride off of my neighbor. She says “sure!” and off we go. We get to school and there are no kids.

….

So we drive to the neighbor’s house and check with her, only to find out that the girls had club and hence wouldn’t be ready to be picked up till a quarter of four. So we go home. Only my ride’s car starts overheating. (Found out later that this was a ‘normal’ occurrence so this was due to happen.) I manage to get home and call Mom’s school, this time getting through. She begs out of duty, swings by and grabs Ann (who, it turns out wasn’t due out until a little after four. The neighbor’s kid had told her mom earlier because she had to leave for tennis lessons which meant mom was sitting out in the parking lot for a while.) then swings by the house dropping off her car keys and Ann.

Ann and I then went and picked Dad up. Dad did call while I was waiting for them, though.

Him: Um, are you coming to pick me up?

Me: I’d love to, but I don’t have any car keys.

*sigh* All ends well though. I have my car back and we all got home safe. Now I’m very tired. And I need to finish taking down Christmas stuff. :/
