Gah people like this annoy me.

Interesting. It wasn't an EdxAl pairing because at the end the sun
comforted him. I like it. It was short and sweet. I like real stories
better than one-shots though. You could transform this into a story about
almost anything, but angst would work best because of the beginning.

a) I have nothing against the EdxAl pairing but case in point was a genfic with brother interaction (cause it's CUUUUTE). Where did you get that? They're BROTHERS here. That does mean they can show affection outside of romantic relationships.

b) IT'S A ONESHOT. I don't CARE if you like "real stories" better than one shots. I do not exist to pander to your whims!

c) One-shots are stories too. T_T

ONE-SHOTS ARE REAL STORIES, DAMMIT.

As one who writes many, many one-shots, I am offended by that statement.

Geez, people are idiots sometimes...

And B? Word. So much word.

a) No, not in the fandom you refer to but I have seen similar sentiments (the one that comes to mind at the moment is actually a bit of the reverse - a picture of Elladan and Elrohir that got blasted for it being twincest when it could be taken just as normal brotherly affection). It really seems people expect romantic implications in everything in-fandom and when it's not there they go nuts (one way or another). Twits they are.

b) Oneshots are good. Multi-parters may hold a person for longer but oneshots are a quick fix that can be read several times, plus they are easier to come by because not everyone can invest time and energy into multi-parters. They have different strengths and any idiot who thinks a oneshot isn't a real fic is, well, and idiot fanbrat.

Saying that one-shots aren't fics is like saying that every short story ever written really isn't a story. I love one-shots and short stories!

I personally get more annoyed by multi-parters, actually, because you have to WAIT for them to UPDATE and sometimes the plot drags on forever when the story could have ended chapters ago. I like one-shots because they have a clear and concise beginning, middle, and end. I SORT of wish people would write longer fics, as a whole, but hey, I understand that it's not POSSIBLE for everyone to just sit down and have 6,000 words come to them naturally. *shrug*

But seriously, Linn - it's the Pit. You get a weird crossroads there. You get the people who scream that OMG INCEST IS WRONG!!11 u sick fuck!111 and stuff, then you get the people who think that writing brotherly gen fic is a way of saying you're not BALLSY enough to write the omg dirty incest. O.o *shrug*

And then you get the fucks who c/p the SAME REVIEW INTO EVERY FIC THEY READ, like alchemistgrrl9 or whatever the fuck her name was. XD
